You changed your post. That is a good example of kennel blindness. They would never ever do that right ? But they do not breed everything that they sell, now do they. Way way too many opportunities to have had a Mal crossed in there.

 Jeff:

This has nothing to do with the topic but really needs said. I know there are many very good strong handlers that are women working strong dogs. It doesn,t take a set of balls to be a STRONG handler but it does take brains to be a GOOD handler.

Nicely Spoken Bob.

Kennel Blindness: One who THINKS, they possibility have a mix breed in their Kennel, and does not tests DNA!

Have a great Day!

We have a different idea of what a strong dog is. At some point, no matter the training a strong dog says "make me" then it is over. Strong prey drive is maybe what you are thinking I said ?

Tito is in my kennel, and is for sale. He will make someone a very good drug dog, but I will never breed to him. I am not sure how that makes me kennel blind. People have sent in DNA tests on their purebred dog, and it came back that it was not the breed they had at all. I saw a pit bull that the DNA said was a border collie and some other things.

Maybe you need to go read up on what a DNA test can or cannot do.

Good point Jeff! I do agree with that!

Lets do a DNA test. We can prove if Tito has Mal blood in him or not. I don’t use Tito’s father for breeding very often because most people cant handle what he produces. I adore his drives and passion for life but he is a hand full!
We have never crossed a Mal with a GSD but many people in Europe do that for police dogs but they are sold with out papers. They want MORE drive in the dogs and we have always felt that more drive brings more problems in many cases. A stable, confident dog with excellent, quiet grips and strong ball and search drive who can be around all people and places and live in a family and still go to work every day is what we try to create. A crazy maniac, is not our goal. That IS the goal when people cross Mals with pitbulls or GSDs.
I also appreciate a beautiful GSD. We don’t breed ugly dogs no matter how good they are. Breeding  a half breed is not of interest to us.

Can you please post this for Eurosport.? I am getting ready for a seminar and gotta run.

now im curious who titos father is (not for the gossip reasons)

by Jeff Oehlsen on 16 March 2012 - 16:03

Well, I have already stated that a DNA test is not going to tell you what you think it is going to tell you. Also, you can pass on to Taunya that he has EPI as well as he has broken off his teeth on a plastic crate.

The dog is a very nice dog personality wise if he was an only dog. He is just STUPID in a kennel or crate. Maybe when she says that people cannot handle the dogs that his father produces that is what she is talking about. He is non stop circling until he is exhausted and then sleeps, and then back to the circling. You cannot work him enough, he HAS to go go go go go.

The EPI and Kennel stupidity are what has kept him from my breeding program, and will probably keep him from ever being able to be a drug dog. Maybe I should get a replacement puppy from these people if they are so positive that his father produces well. As it is, he has a home and is just part of the feed bill. Cannot breed him, no teeth, so cannot trial him in Mondio. Basically the only thing left is the hope that I can give him to a police dept. I am sure with his Malinois work ethic, he would be a good asset to them.

When I say Tito is for sale, since he has busted his teeth off, he will cost 1$ and shipping. LOL
