Two Moons, you are welcome to come to our forum any time!  We finally have it all finished, new banner and all!  One of our new members made the banne for us for the top of the page and it looks awesome.  I think we have all of the categories in place and I'm not sure if I'll be adding any more to it unless a member has another great idea like all of the ones they have come up with so far.  I think a lot of you who are tired of the fighting on this board would be pleasantly surprised!  Check us out....

Forgot to mention that it is not only open for UKC members!  We changed the title to make that known.  We accept all organizations there.

SW

I think it is wonderul that you have started a board that will cater to your taste and interests.  From reading you on here and Leerburg it is obvious that the existing ones were not a good fit for whatever reason.

I do think it is kind of tacky to use other boards so heavily to promote yours though.  Relax, good boards have no problem getting people to join, it is a small community.

LOL, doesn't hurt to let people know there are more options out there for them for friendlier boards!  And this post doesn''t need any help from me, it's doing quite well it's self!

by Betty on 05 January 2008 - 15:01

But this post HAS received a lot of help from you............

We all have our own sense of right and wrong, but it just seems wrong to me to use the features of a board that someone else had paid for to constantly promote a board of your own.

<shrug>

If your intent was to let everyone know that your board is a "friendlier option" you have more then accomplished your goal.

Good luck with your board.  I hope it is all that you intend for it to be.

Thanks a LOT Sue! Now there's coffee on my computer screen! Comic books, you say? Cloak and dagger? No understanding of Sch yet trying to act like an expert? Weird.

I guess this whole LC breeding thing boils down to a set of rules. Long Coat? Oversized? Over angulate? Weak nerved? I say breed 'em all. But in the name of all that is good and decent don't use a stud dog that won't raise his leg to piss!!!!!

STOP THE MADNESS!!! Stand for this last bastion of ethics! No more SQUATTERS!

Hey - sorry I am responding a day late - we just moved back into our apartment and there hasnt been any free wireless to borrow O.o

I hate to say it - because I love my sport and I love my club members - but there is alot of snobishness in SchH...and I probably come from one of the more relaxed training groups O.o

Here's a few of my personal experiences :

I've mentioned that I would be interested in owning a Bouvier or a Beauceron in the future to compete with - and the response to that was "you'll never get anywhere in in this sport with those dogs."  The funny part is the guys helper has dobermans (which he poopoos) and his partner has a Bouvier who does very well.

There have been those that said they wouldnt rag me so much about my white dog if I just trimmed her ear fluffies a little bit.

Our helper, when I first met him at the sports warehouse, said something along the lines about my dog being useless and said something nasty about WSs in general - though he got over that pretty quick.

One of the other guys said all white dogs have bad nerves - which he had to take back a week later.

And this is just the everyday stuff - it doesnt bother me as much with these guys because only one or two of them is actually really trying to be obnoxious, for the rest of them I chalk it up to the same thing as the guys I deal with in the military...a constant need to just make fun of something....anything....lol...I can live with that when its all in good fun...hec, I even make fun of myself with them on occasion...because at the end of the day I still hear them say wow, gosh, she has improved, I never thought she would get that far, etc...

I got lucky because I found a group of people who are willing to keep a generally open mind about this - but at the same time I can tell you several stories about people who own white dogs who are turned away without even being tested for drives or temperment or nerves.  And its not just the DQs like coats or whites, sometimes it is clubs turning away showlines, sometimes turning away working lines, sometimes turning away other breeds.  If you cant even keep your mind open enough to even test the dog - well...that is a certain level of snobishness.
