Here's one more for you, Mithuna...this is another rescue of unknown lineage, who I lost in 2011 at a bit over 15 yrs. She stood 24" and ran 70-72#.

What can I say? The conformation ring was never where my interests lay, even back then...

She was a great dog, though admittedly not the prettiest, and she remains the yardstick by which I measure temperament, stability and strength of character.

"What can I say? "

Nothing, please just don't. You have done enough damage for one night don't you think.

Hey I gotta get my drama somehow.

At least I think she was pretty ! :-)

by hexe on 14 March 2016 - 11:03

Hundmutter, which one--Jessie, or Suess? Of course, I think every one of them are beautiful, since they belong to me and I to them, but most GSD folks thought Jess was too course for a bitch, and she had a rather hard coat.

Hexe, I was deliberately ambiguous there ! Both.
Inasmuch as anyone can tell from one still photo,
when you can't actually get your hands on the dogs
coats, etc, I thought both pics showed females who
were worthy of attention. Neither is too much, in
my eyes @ least, like what we see in today's ASL
rings; nor is the second bitch (Suess ?) too far in
the 'modern' SV direction. They both appear to have
perfectly adequate secondary sex characterstics -
you can see they are female LOL. Personally I like
both faces & expressions, and consider them both
'pretty'. If you could meet some of the doggy-looking
bitches I've seen in my time, I think you would tell
'most GSD folks' who said that about Jess that they
needed to visit their optician. And it is only a photo,
but her coat looks to 'lay' alright from here; harsh
coat is about environments and genes, anyway, not gender. JMO.

Linda.

PS  I really like the coatie in the middle with your fatboy, too !

for those who have a problem with a slightly bigger female/dog. Here is a pic of a Drago Vom P daughter with a thick build and currently weighing in at 86 lbs; very similar in bulk to the female I have. She is currently advertised on PDB for sale. AND REALLY, WHATS WRONG WITH HER???

I can understand if your taste for size/bulk favors dutchies or mals.

Mithuna, it´s not according to the breed standard, it´s not according to agility and flexibility, and on tip of top, the dog simply looks overweighed. This dog is not the desiderated development of a working dog, able to trot, run, move for a long period of time.
A good dog? Maybe, I don´t know her - but in case this female weighs 86 pounds in good shape, not breedworthy.

I wonder who owns that female... Did they give permission to use her for your debate, mithuna? Just wondering.
BTW, she appears very over weight.

Looks a bit tubby to me, as well.
Here we go with yet another dog photographed in a
way that makes it difficult to assess fully.
Which part of: sideways on, standing, on a level surface,
do you find so difficult to grasp, Mithuna ?
