Dakota-cody, If you find that there is ANY issue with fiances for aftercare (meds, etc.) PLEASE do not hesitate to let us know. I am certainly happy to commit to chipping in on monthly med expenses, if needed.

Our friend by us does training, but, we are open for more hrlp. LOL

I have always wanted to have Nala be a Personal Protection Dog, We got her after he showed me a picture of one of the Kane county k9's , I always wanted a GSD, But when I seen there were black ones I was hooked.

So we looked around and found a breeder in roselle 30 mins from us.

From the start nala was just spoiled. If I tell her go lay down she does..... But on the couch!!
She is good at taken our spot. If I get up she jumps where I was.
She was potty trained in 2 weeks, so smart..

But, with him and me working we never got the training done. I cant even take her outside, Sherdell has too, she has hurt my back so many times, she pulls us even with a chock collar on.

she's soooooo strong.

When cody has his therapy p.t. d.t or speech or even o.t.
i have to open the gate and put nala in the powder room, so i can let them in the house ( they are scared of her) LOL

plus, she wont lisen to me. she does good being out with 3 of my nurses that we have.
if they say no, or Nala go lay down she does. the 3 of them have been here for a while, she nala knows them well.

She is a big kisser and loves to kiss a lot.  she is a great dog, our baby.. she just has to know shes not in control, we are.
so thats what i hope for with some training. zeta did show us some things, Nala did good with her.
once i was home and tried the training she was back to being bull headed.

i do know one things, nala would give her life to protect the kids or us.

the only men that can comein here are family members, since she has known them all her life.

any opinions???

ah, thanks Mystere
.

Sherdell was going to call Sue later, we do have money left over. so he has put 900.00 aside for the left eye.
then to see what to do with the other part. I think what we should probably do is to keep the extra 300 in reserve, just long enough
to make sure there are no complications with the surgery. once we know everything is ok, then we need to know what to do with what's left. We leave it up to the donors. Do we mail what we can back to the wonderful donors, or do we put a credit with the Fox lake animal hospital for any issues that may come up soon, from this surgery? thanks so much from the Cawvey family

Put on credit at the Animal Hospital. You may very well have after care expenses for medications or follow-up visits. Please keep us posted.

Howdy,

I have not been on the PDB for a while, but it sure makes me very happy how all off this turns out. A huge "Thank You" to everybody, who either made a donation, sending their well wishes or contributing their time, to help Nala & her Family.
It is very nice to see that Nala is on her way to recover.

Furthermore I would like to wish everybody a " Happy Easter ", may all of you enjoy a nice weekend with your Familys.

I agree with Tracking Fan--whatever monies are left over after the surgeries are completed should be left on account at Fox Lake for future veterinary expenses for Nala, even if they're just routine ones.

Happy Easter Everyone

Nala was not to happy about being away from us, down stairs.
when family is over, that cone..............wow, if it was not for that darn thing she'd be by us. The good thing is she's doing great. lots of treats and food on and off all day and her right eye is staying wet.

I'm so proud of her, she reminds me of cody.. A fighting soul..... God as touched her and said, this is your calling. you are this little boys life and this family needs you. you are loved so much!!!

and this is due to this wonderful mess. board here, i tell GOD!!!  love you all..............
Love, Beverly

You can take the cone off IF you are able to directly supervise her. That means NOT leaving her for a second and watching her all the time. Maybe you or your husband can take her outside on a leash without the cone several times a day and this will give her a little relief. She will get better at accepting it, but clearly, she has to not bother her incisions, so she will have to tolerate it. It is great to hear the eye is staying wet.
