It depends who you get at the counter, no matter what the reservation agent tells you.
We have been told $127 (which was the older price and also what Delta charges). And consistency has been that is wrong (this has been over the past year in regards to charges). Lufthansa last month was $250 on the way over to Europe and 175 euros on the way back. KLM charges a HUGE amount (never have flown them - quote was $600).
All was for excess baggage for dog in 500 crate.
Suggestion - get the paperwork ahead of time to fill out. The agents will love you!
