I am not saying in the least that there is anything wrong with sport, we just do our training in a different venue. Our dogs are healthy and I try and be as honest with myself as possible when it comes to evaluating stock. I know what each dog is lacking and try to compensate accordingly. I have had great sucess with breeding and placing dogs with PDs working on the street in both single and dual purpose capacity. No ones dogs are perfect, they never will be but by breeding for a purpose we are not just breeding to fill the world with puppies. I intend to keep ( and have kept) the most promising puppies back to raise for patrol work. I don't breed females for litter after litter and when they retire they are not placed in retirement homes. They stay here to live out their lives as loved house dogs.
I could ramble on, but I won't. I love Bijou but she is a real nut. I've been contemplating calling her PITA because she is. LOL
