Yes, why let a Puppy pull you along and then have to retrain it a little later not to Pull and walk with you that makes no sense at all double work, Plus as Alpha said it teaches the Pup to want to be with you. when you call it.
To me the most important bit of training of all getting the dog or Pup to come first time called or as it gets older the Dog wants to be near you, That is what i am getting Puppy Hektor to do at this very time now just under 10 weeks old.
So many dogs in training decide to not come to the handler when called, Not good at all so Yes', a very good idea
