It is well known the  Dutch shepherd was bred into the shepherds many times.

I have heard that too, back in the early days.  The Malinois was also interbred in the early days............and the later days too in The Netherlands and parts of Belgium.

I have heard too that most of the brindle dogs came from the part of Germany that was closest to Belgium................

I do see brindle on this dog.  If he were turned sideways, I believe he'd look much like Friedo, but with a more pronounced saddle.
