Molly said my thoughts well above. Always a heart-breaker... but it does happen no matter how we try to avoid it. My Onyx had two horrible hips. We never showed him the x-rays. He lived to be 12.5, never showed any clinical signs, just a bit of arthritis in later years, but we all have arthritis when we get old. Good luck, SS

Nothing to add (due to all the excellent responses already) but just wondering. I was always under the impression that even the week up to or after the x-ray are not good. You said your girl came into heat two weeks later? If you combine the possible effects of that and poor postitioning it would make me wonder. Maybe find another vet and retake the shots? I don't consider a dog displastic untill they show physical symptoms. When the pictures are looked at a score has to be given, sure. And commonly we call that dysplastic. However fullblown dysplasia involves the dog having issues and pictures in my opinion. Regardless, if fullblown or not, the above advice should still be followed as the dog obviously is primed for problems with bad hip x-rays. But like everyone already said, she can still lead a wonderful, healthy and long life.
