Yes, 1967 was indeed a watershed year for the GSD.

"Roach is not an illusion, that is a tired comment and I wish people would stop saying it. If a dog is standing unstacked and it still has a pronounced curve to it's back, then it is not an illusion but a physical fault."

Correct; it is no illusion.  I may not be any expert like you all, but it's plainly THERE - and it's CONFIRMED by the way they trot!  Roachers do not trot the same way as other "styles".

I've seen live German dogs although I've never been to a show.  In their normal every-day action and standing, it's OBVIOUS they have roaches.  And they're the pure show lines.  My sister's current "German" GS has an obvious roach just "standing naturally".

Examples?  Half the dogs advertized on these pages!  At least 1 of the 2 pix on any given update on these GS PedDB pages is going to be a roach.

The dog used as an avatar up there in the upper left of the title has a slight roach.  Better than most, but you can tell the "hips are sagging".

Some of the nicest toplines I have seen are being bred by Jennifer Aguilar, vom Tal der Schatten.

My Breeder at www.vonsalerno.com has puppies avialable that I consider not roached.

Here is my dogs full brother. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/521228.html

Also you can see mine has no roach but he is a LC. His name is Yoker. Bad stack though.

Check out her site and you will see that her dogs are not roached and are very good German Show lines.
