Ann,

Please don't feel bad. I'm sorry that particular order didn't work out but good came of it nonetheless. We, here, were witness to the kindness of strangers. People who join together as words on a monitor, unknown to each other for the most part, opened their heartes to the plight of an old dog. Thank you all for your efforts and your caring.

The truly great news is that we did find a ball. Well, not we. GSDSCH3V discovered one in the bottom of her toy box and mailed it to us! We know each other from an e-mail list we're on where I had also posted about this.

The ball arrived on Saturday, brought by the mailman who always leaves dog treats in the mailbox, yet another kind person in a world that's often cold and indifferent. Marcus has been in a trance ever since  :)

Here he is, and THANK YOU!!!!

A picture is worth a thousand words.  Marcus looks thrilled with it.  I'm so happy someone was able to get this for you.  Hopefully Marcus wil be able to enjoy it for a long time.

Thank you for your good wishes. We are very much hoping that the prognosis of 6 months is true for him. Six months would mean he gets to spend time in his beloved pool, the one we built for the dogs. Six months would mean he can go to the ocean again and bark at the waves. Six months would mean he can walk next to my husband while he mows the lawns.

Six months is a life time for us, right now.

Ann2610:  I just got on this site and am looking for this same ball that you found for another poster.  I can't find it anywhere.  I have one from a previous GSD that I had for 15 years.  I now have a 14 month old GSD and it has become her favorite toy and I want to get ahead of the game and try to find a replacement for a future catastophe.  Can you still get it?  I know this a year later than your original search but I would be forever in your debt if you can still get it.  Please let me know if you or anyone can still find this ball.  My e-mail is fedkiw@cox.net.  Thanks for anyone's help.

I am glad you got the ball for Marcus!  I hope the others get their balls too.  I know what it's like to want to give a senior dog their favorite toy.  Mine's favorite ball was a lot like the one you pictured, only it was blue, had only one hole, and had a bell inside (that fell out).  Kong had nuthin on that ball.  I never could find a replacement.

May all the seniors enjoy their time remaining.

Hello Chimmy,
sorry but I was unable to get hold of the ball.  The website was an old one and for some reason started worked again for accepting orders.  Several phone calls to various departments and to Pedigree confirmed the ball was no longer made and nowhere in UK had it stocked (tried local pet stores).  The ball that Aqua eventually got was from another member of the board who found it in their toybox. Made Marcus' last days happy.  Sorry can't help you.
Regards Ann.
