Smart Guy,

I really like both of your dogs. I prefer a real dog any day.

I admire that you stuck your neck out. You know that you can hear the absolute worst from some of the commenters here.

As you continue on your path to titling and breed surveying your dogs, know that nothing will ever be as cruel and poinless as what you heard here.

As for the high showlines from Germany, yes, they are very beautiful. Can anyone tell me when the last sieger was anyhting but black and red?

That is absurd. The dominant gene in German Shepherds is SABLE. This black and red cult thing is BORING.

In response to Blitzens, "It must be lonely at the top, paranshep."   Yes, it is.  Worse as long as people like you continue to give bad advice it always will be.  Now before you wish to demean my many character flaws, after all the purpose of this is supposed to be about the dogs; why not  simply answer my questions and tell us what shepherds you have owned that have accomplished anything in the breed or HOT ring.  If I am wrong, I will have no problem in publicly apologizing.  However if you intend to be part of a "choir" and make stupid remarks like those below, I won't.  Blitzen: "You asked for it, P'Shep. Looks like smartguy knows who you are and that you buy your dogs and titles. You're busted!!! Smart guy, ain't he?    Answer:  I doubt he and I have ever met, we obviously run in different circles.  Now before you make both of you look silly with your ridiculous statements.  Consider the logic of my answer.  We all buy our dogs from someone.   Some of us are just smarter and more selective from whom.  So if you accuse me of buying dogs, yes, I am just as guilty as the rest of you.   I went to public schools rather than being taught at home, but then I think that applies to the rest of you as well.  I did pay my own way through college.  I carried 16 credit hours a semester while working 45 hours a week.  I paid for those trainers (er teachers) and carried a 3.4 average.     Most people train at a club on a weekly basis.  Some people send their kids off to college to learn while others stay at home.  People send their kids to school, I send my dogs to school. I don't believe in wasting time.  It all boils down to choices.

Blitzen: You could have saved yourself a lot of typing by simply offering a positive critique of his bitch in a respectful manner, sort of like an SV judge would do.  I'm guessing you don't fancy workinglines. Am I right? At any rate, you are a very knowledable person albeit pompous.

You could have saved yourself a lot of typing by simply offering a positive critique of his bitch in a respectful manner, sort of like an SV judge would do.  I'm guessing you don't fancy workinglines. Am I right? At any rate, you are a very knowledable person albeit pompous.

Answer:  I did offer, along with a few others an honest critique.  I don't think liars are "nice people".  I work my shepherds with many types of working dogs.  In fact, I have the only show line dogs in the club.  Most are amazed at how well my dogs bite as they have been "brain washed" to believe otherwise.  So, I have to say, your wrong again.

Whatever, P'Shep. Have a nice day.

Response to 4pack's statement,"

That has got to be the saddest bunch of shit I've heard in awhile. Winning is not everything, it's what you learn as you go. If you win yet learn nothing in life, your still a looser. Many a student sucked at school and is actually a genius, so the "A" theory goes right out the window too. Sounds as if someone has a superiority complex. Maybe everyone hated you or still does? All you can grasp to is my dog is better than yours? Sad...

Response:  Spoken like a true loser.  Next time you look at the placings in a ring, you'll see there are no ties.  Second place is the first loser.  Quit grasping at straws and searching for examples of the small percentage of times my statements may be wrong.  I con't care about the venue you choose, do you compete?  I can't help it if I have little respect for whining losers.  This forum is for both showlines and working dog people.  Urma puts out a hard covered book on showline dogs every year that sells for over $100.  Does anyone do that for the working dogs?  There must be a reason why not.  As to why the Germans prefer not to put up blacks and sables, I don't know why, but that doesnt mean that people should not  breed them with good conformation if  that be their color of choice.  Perhaps, if you want to be a winner, you might wish to remember and old adage, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do"

As for your assumtion of my being hated,.  Frankly, it makes life easier to deal with people that are rude to me, I DON'T HAVE TO PRETEND TO BE NICE OR POLITE TO PEOPLE WHO ARE RUDE TO ME.  So far, I've been far more polite to the likes of you than you have me.  When you have to resort to name calling your indicating you have nothing further to offer in rebuttal on the subject matter.  I still notice not one of you have offered to show me oranyone else why we should listen to your advice or opinions.  What are your "doggy" credentials?

by paranshep on 15 August 2008 - 20:08

In response to another of  smartguys absurb questions. " Talk to me when YOU do the hard work it takes to get tittles for your dogs instead of paying for them."

I have personally entered (had to pay for them) and handled 5 of my dogs to their KK1 for life.  This in just the past three years.  Now I showed you mine, you show me yours!   See, I have and can do what you claim you hope to do, but you have yet to do the same.  You admit to being a beginner and this is your first dog.  I've been competing with Shepherds for over 30 years.  Now on to the next respondent......

4pack

Your so full of shit your breath must stink to high heaven. I don't show, nor do I care to because it means rubbing elbow's with assholes like yourself.  I wasn't rude to you until you blatently shit talked someones dog...twice. It's easy enough to give a critique without being a dick, the judges do it all the time.

I just don't know how you can really judge a dog from that terrible picture anyway? The dog isn't stacked and her head is almost looking strait up, the flash of the camera didn't help and neither did the angle of the shot. For you to tear down a dog with one small picture is just wrong. You quoted "flaws and strengths" yet couldn't offset your negative post with one positive thing to say about the dog?

When in Rome? LOL Jump on the bandwagon? Would you jump from a bridge if your friends did? Just because the black and reds get more attention doesn't make them superior.

Doggy credentials, are you serious? What are yours again? Your trophy walls? In 40 years, I'll have my share too, I just wont post them shamelessly on my website. Has the $ to import some nice dogs from Germany so now he can talk shit? Please, you couldn't breed a Champ in 40 years of trying, now who's the loser? Your clearly making this into a show/working thing.

by paranshep on 15 August 2008 - 21:08

Responding to question 1 by Sueincc   Sue, you make all the wrong analogies.  You want to compare a "G" rated dog with super working parents against a dog with VA parents, whose parents won't work??????   WOW, that's a giant leap.  Why assume the VA dogs parents won't work?  If I have learned nothing else in these last 40 years, its that very few working dog people and showline people even socialize with each other.  So where is you will get the information on the showline dogs parents?  From some biased working dog owner that knows less than you about them?  From the breeder?  Why should the breeder tell you the truth, your not buying a dog from them.  C'mon now, make some sense. I expected more from you.

by Blitzen on 15 August 2008 - 21:08

Ditto, 4pack. Well said.

by paranshep on 15 August 2008 - 21:08

Poor Frustrated 4pack reverting to nastiness again. In order of your questions  1.  You quoted "flaws and strengths" yet couldn't offset your negative post with one positive thing to say about the dog?  RESP:  I was asked to judge the dogs flaws and strengths from a photo.  The flaws were abundant, I didn't give them all.  Others found them and gave them.  No, I couldn't find one positive thing to say about the dog conformation as presented.   2. When in Rome? LOL Jump on the bandwagon? Would you jump from a bridge if your friends did? Just because the black and reds get more attention doesn't make them superior.  Resp:  Whew, do all you people jump to such extremes with your vindictiveness.  I'll bet you really scare some people off with your vicious natures.  None of my friends would be stupid enough to jump off a bridge, but if they did, I'd try to help them if they were still alive.  Unfortunately in the world of man, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, if the majority of the world wishes to buy black and red and not sable,  then black and red wins!  I'll start investing in sable dogs when they bring as good a return on investment as do black and reds.  But you keep on trucking and tilting at windmills!   3.  Please, you couldn't breed a Champ in 40 years of trying, now who's the loser? Your clearly making this into a show/working thing.  Resp: Actually, no I'm  not, but your trying like hell to.  By the way I have bred quite a few champions.  I once finished 4 in less than a year and a half.  Canadian and American ones.  You sure make a lot of assumptions.  How many times do you have to publicly make a fool of yourself with your mistakes before others realize it?  Have a good day now, ya heah?
