I dont care if its their way or not.  If there is not a very good reason to cause pain on a living being stop doing it.  It is not critical to skin a live animal over a dead one, and its not critical to eat the brain out of the head of a living monkey.  What if an advanced alien nation came to earth?  Would we want to be treated the way some cultures treat their animals?  At least being treated as a pet would be bearable (if not pretty nice).

I would agree with you VonZellmer...If there's no reason to cause pain, don't.  But again, that's our way of looking at it.  And as far as skinning a live animal over a dead one...That was addressed above...It's not done, except when someone is paid by PETA to do it, as the damage to the pelt couldn't be avoided if you skinned it alive.  As for the brain of the monkey...I see no reason to eat brains period, from living or dead creatures..No way.  I think it's sick, and I would likely be sick if I had seen such taking place.

As for the alien culture coming to earth and seeing the way some cultures treat animals and being treated that way...The way some of those cultures treat their own people is just as bad, and I wouldn't really want to be treated either way.  I don't think I'd want to be a pet, though...my mother in law saws I bite the hand that feeds me...
