The sire is 1/4 dutch. That's my guess.

No telling WHAT might be behind some of the dogs bred in the Eastern block countries back a few generations.
Little-known fact: The SV put a moratorium on registering Czech dogs in the 90's after looking at the DNA profiles of some of them...
My old, dark sable dog, V Pallo vom Arolser Holz, SchH 3, KK1, did display almost horizontal STRIPES in his dark sable coat at viewed from some angles, some times of the year (summer). I always wondered why, but have seen it it a few dogs since, some related, some not.

i am more concerned as to how this dog is kept than his colour. have a nice one.
