That's good.  So why are people against them?  Is it just this particular bad breeder?

BTW, the kennel I posted doesn't appear to be calling them Shiloh's but they are calling them "old style" and large.  I guess "old style" can mean many things.

Dear Doberdoodle,

Tina is much more qualified to answer your questions about the hips and OFA.  I know as an owner (versus a breeder) of one of
Tina's dogs I am required to have my dogs hips x-rayed, either OFA or PennHip, once prior to two yrs of age and once just after two yrs of age, and the findings submitted to the SSDCA to be documented and compared to the xrays of the littermates.

Since this is a public forum and I am just an owner and not one of Tina's licensed breeders, I don't have a lot of knowledge about the technical aspect of the record keeping.  I just know it is fairly accurate and incredibly extensive.

----------------

That's a good question --  As if the purebred German Shepherd Dog was just  "miraculously" created by Max.

My guess is because some of the Posters don't like Shiloh's and the Breeder because they do NOT CONFORM.   We must all CONFORM, you know -- Lockstep !

Perhaps they "do not conform" because they are a MUTT - a Malamute X GSD mutt to be exact.  and unfortunately from what I have seen, they do not "conform" to either breed's standard or good characteristics.  Still.  after 30 years of breeding the "breed".

She addresses this question of being mixed on the website I just found, http://www.shilohshepherds.info  I don't feel like reading it right now but maybe it gives more info

I don't understand making new breeds-- it seems there are enough breeds already in existance for people to choose whatever they want and for every purpose, why make new ones?

Playing devil's advocate- Maybe these are nice dogs though, if they are healthy and good temperament and 30 yrs of pedigrees to see then whats the problem

OK Molly -- what type of dogs were mated to create the German Shepherd ?

Mutts

I will not pay 1500.00 for a mixed breed dog. To each his own. I feel if this is what she wants to do let her but don't expect me to support it or care about it. I like old style gsd but I just do not see that in these dogs. JMO

If the dogs are now called Shilohs and are a completely seperate breed, then it doesn't bother me.
