"You're correct, that's his name. I'm sure if it really were Steve, no one would even know that."

Since Dwight DAVID Eisenhower, John FITZGERALD Kennedy, Lyndon BAINES Johnson, Richard MILHOUSE Nixon, etc., etc., etc, Americans have been very aware of a President's middle name.

Sure, I'd agree that what is good for the donkeys is good for the elephants and both are equally as guilty of spreading hate as the other. I don't see anyone here linking some of McCain's and Palin's  gaffs to this board,  and I truly wonder why that is.  It's sure not due to lack of sensational material. So far we've seen all sorts of demeaning cartoons, insults,  and inaccurate links to Obama and the democrats, but very little that would incriminate the republicans is the same light. IMO  it is so important at election time to do one's homework and stop believing everything one reads on the net and in books like "Obama Nation" as long as it justifies their choice of candidates and political and personal views.  For example, just the name of the above mentioned book is intended to degrade Obama as a man. Abomination means -  hated, despised, loathed.  I doubt the name was a coincidence. Both parties have their die hards who call themselves staunch republicans/democrats. Maybe they would be better off thinking of themselves as staunch Americans instead and load their brains prior to shooting off their mouths. There are those who will vote party regardless even if the candidate were satan him/herself. I think the figures are somewhere around 30% of each party's registered voters will vote party. The other 70% are up for grabs.

Those Presidents were never introduced only using their middle names, were they? Why?

" in books like "Obama Nation" "

Fair enough.  I would like to suggest people simply read McCain's  "Faith of My Fathers" and then read Barack Obama's two books, "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance" and

"The Audacity of  Hope"

"Those Presidents were never introduced only using their middle names, were they? Why?" Why did the Democrats refer to George Allen as "Felix"?

I guess you missed my post (horrified) that Palin deflected a question, by the press, if she would call abortion clinic bombers "domestic terrorists".  That was stupid, stupid, STUPID.  She tried to get the press back on the subject of William Ayers and the Weathermen, the original subject.  Not cool, Sarah!

Didn't know they, did, Micky, but I'll take a wild guess that it wasn't a term of endearment and maybe something to do with the Odd Couple? I guess if you can't find anything sensational and ugly that can't be rebutted by reasonable people, then personal innuendos and insults are the only weapons avaiable to the lunatic fringe?  It's really all about divide and conquer.

I will definitely be very happy to see November 5th come. No matter who wins, they and we are in for the most unsettled 4 years of their/our lives. I think alcohol sales will probably be way up . I'm pretty sure my own consumption will be.

You are so right Two Moons, Same Shit Different Day, all right, and more dirty politics as usual.

Two pathetic neo-nazi skinheads who draw swastikas in chalk on their car and run around screaming "White Power" and "Sieg Heil"  are arrested for hatching  a plot to assassinate  Obama while wearing white tuxedos and top hats.  I mean come on!  These type of groups (white and black)  are made up of societies losers who are desperate to blame the fact that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel on anyone other than themselves.   Their combined brain power can't get them beyond  holding sad little demonstrations and hatching these moronic plots (or should I say  "moranic")!!!!  If it weren't for this election, none of us would even be discussing these impotent jokers, other than to laugh at them, as we laughed at the one with the sign.

There will be no mass rioting and looting in the streets regardless of who wins.  The worst thing we can do is give  any of the  lunatic fringe elements any legitimacy by pretending to be concerned about their plans - regardless of whether they are members of radical white OR radical black groups.

So folks, please, lets not give these idiots anymore of our time.  I am aware that now Ugly will feel the need to post zillions of links in trying to legitimize some of these fringe groups, but really, do any of us ever click on them anymore?

Oh, I don't know.  We've had a number of years of unsettling behavior, really.  When Clinton was in office, we had the pros and cons get pretty rowdy (Impeachment is not a normal occurrence) and come on, if you want to see the average person with liberal leanings hit the ceiling and foam at the mouth, just tell him or her that you wish Dick Cheney was campaigning for President.  But you better be wearing protective gear if you do so (AND NO, I AM NOT CAMPAIGNING for Cheney).

What will be, will be.  We'll go out, and vote our conscience.  If the other guy wins, the great majority of the opposing side will grit their teeth and look toward 2012.  Will we have some violence, probably, but we Americans are for the most part, pretty resilient.

And, we doggy folk have a very strong bond in man's best friend.

What will you guy's have to argue about after this?

The possibility's are endless.    Or are they?

You've just about covered every gripe and moan I can imagine.

Nothing new has been said for week's.

I might have to resort to reading news paper's again.   That'll suck !

I think we should ALL get together after the election's to tie one on!!    Argueing race and politic's and religion makes so much more sense when your plastered.

Then we can all bond and have a group hug !!

I love you guy's..... don't step in that !!  LOL
