4pack,  please do remember "free" do does alway mean "cheap".  I've know people who received "free" horses put in the hospital by that same horse.  Sure ended up an expensive free.  That said, I've given away more horses and mules to the perfect home then I've sold.

Keep looking, the right one will come along.  Your bigger issue will be the time constraint.

Yup animules, I have one eye open always. Temperament will be the first thing I am looking at, just like with my dogs. If it happens to be pretty, even better. I have been lucky and stick to a horse pretty damn well, never been seriously hurt, nothing more than bruised by a horse. I'm the queen of cautious right now. I haven't had medical ins in over 2 years. I ain't breakin' shit! I'm also in no hurry, it will happen if it happens. I know rushing into anything is never a good thing. I have allot going on this year, so I quit thinking about it and looking.

It's showing for me!  Cute horse:)

This is my mom up on one of our Morgans.  She used to be my show horse but I sold her to my mom when I moved and couldn't afford her anymore.

Ooh I got 1 to work. Not sure why the other doesn't work? Still can't get the full body one to work. I'm gonna try the miniture horse pic. Nope, that one didn't work either. I'm done tryin'. Anyway nice pics of everybodies horses. Obviously I love paints. I'd have taken the one blind eyed mare too. Nothin' a hand on that side of her body when your on the ground can't fix.

4pack, Since you like Paints, here's one I had.

MI GSD,  Nice Mare.  I showed the open "A" system for years and really enjoyed watching all the variety.

Here's a couple from the past......

I guess it's okay for cattle and hogs to go through that process though??  Why? Because we eat them?  Because we eat them...then it's okay if they suffer?

chicki, get ahold of yourself before I have to slap you into reality. No one, not 1 single person has said animals of any kind should suffer. Not sure where you are getting these thoughts? Animals need to die, no 2 ways about it. We need to eat and so do our pets. There are laws or should be, in place so people can monitor the way slaughter houses run and put the animals down. Making it illegal here in the US has only put it out of our hands. Now our horses can be bought at auction and shipped to Mexico or Canada for slaughter, taking the process out of our jurastiction to even vote on. Real smart move is all anybody is saying. Nobody wants to think of horses being shot, killed or maimed but the fact is, we can't save them all and their time must end sooner or later. Better to be done quick and painlessly. We can't Euth every horse, pig or cow for food consumption now can we? Get a grip. Your letting your emotions over run your head.
