Two Moons

by Two Moons on 06 December 2008 - 20:12

I've seen a giant Rottweiler up close and personal,  he looked like a Rottweiler to me.

I would have to say a black bear would have been less intimidating, there is a lot of good And bad to these dog's.

I couldn't afford to feed one.

I like the look and feel of a large dog, but for me it's just not practical.

My GSD is that and more.

As a proud member of the ORIGINAL SHILOH SHEPHERD THE SSDCA/ISSR  and proud owner  of one very exceptional DOG,  I welcome anyone truly interested and curious about the SHILOH  breed to research the FACTS of the breed .... The history of the breed,  and its issr  standard, as  written by the breed founder, TINA BARBER, which  is the starting point regarding the breed.

Should anyone wish to find the breeds standard and origin, please visit:

http://www.shilohhistory.com/                               ORIGIN HISTORY OF THIS BREED!

:http://www.shilohshepherds.org/zion/                    BREED **** kennel of origin************

http://www.shilohshepherdstory.com/                    for the compeling story of the breed.

I have since a child, grew up  with many working  GERMAN SHEPHERDS (my father-mothers dogs...) one or two were actually quite  aggressive ( one did grabb me by the throat-  which nearly to killed me..I STILL have the scar today and am lucky I am here)

Later in life I sought  a GREAT PROTECTION dog, that would have the drive, stable temp.  yet needed to be very loyal to the family..one that is strong with NO HIP ISSUES, or those ugly stupid  looking ROACH SWAY BACKS.    I have CHILDREN..I needed a strong dog, active,  that would be loyal to the family!     I  found the original SHILOH..the perfect combination....and can assure you, that the SHILOH is a extremely SMART,  very very agile, very  strong, and VERY loyal !!!

The questions regarding SCH and titles directed at TINA BARBER,   can be answered by going to the links  I have provided above .  NO RESPONSE FROM MRS> BARBER DOES NOT INDICATE anything you  have ASSUMED!    Mrs. BARBER grew up in GERMANY, raising german dogs  and is experienced with training even hard german dogs  from great german lines!!!!!!! You  may learn by reading  about her life story.  for those lucky people  like myself,  who  know and SUPPORT THE FUTURE OF THE BREED we welcome you to seek the origin of this magnificant canine!

http://www.shilohshepherdstory.com/      a compeling story!!!!!

THANK YOU  and again feel free to read and LEARN and look at the pictures!

 Thorsthunder:

EEEEEWWWWWWWW the aggressive working german shepherd dog, theres a reason to breed a over sized bad ears set GSD with little drive and long coat. Sounds like mom and dad should of taught you how to deal with dogs.

Sheesh!  Two weeks later and still no response to the request for specific regarding the claim that Tina Barber titled a shiloh in schutzhund.  Not from Tina, nor from Sunsilver, who raised the issue.

I guess the non-response speaks for itself:  it is a lie.

where's  your avatars ?? Mrs. barber is probaly busy with   litters that is why she has not responded! You know ya gotta keep up with the  "demand."

your brain is stuck on title and missing the point,  about the shiloh breed and you are stuck on stupid because you refuse to at least educate yourself by linking into the ISSR SSDCA database and learning about IF mrs. Baber DID in FACT title any dogs!

..my dog can drive me to the store he's so smart  but seriously Tina did train and title in schz

by the way my pooch in  the picture is NOT A LONG HAIR !!!!!! Even your  dog would know that!

Shows how much you actually know ther are two types of  shiloh coats long and short  coats which I love !..   Apparantly YOU have an issue with SHILOHS.       The ISSR Shiloh ,  like the writer earlier on this forum  had tried  to explain to you,  was bred to be a family companion.     Tina DID train digs in sch and again you can read about it in the link I posted..so read on..

I   have a gorgeous,  short coated , healthy  solid  boned,    ISSR SHILOH    Don't put down a breed that you have never ever worked with!  My dog Is very capable of defending me.   Don't insist that mrs barber  prove to you, an unkown,  her  credentials. Read her book.      Why don't you go to cafe express or  and pick up a copy of  the shiloh story,  against the wind....A BREED IS BORN.

and  WHY would my parents HAVE to teach  me as a   young child, about HOW to deal with a dog?    what planet are you from that kids Listen?

I was dealing with the dog I was trying to be the Alpha!!!!!!At age 8!!!!  ride its back!!!! Command it around  !!!!

Own the dog when in fact it was my FATHERS (a NYPD) dog!!!!!!!!!!!

the huge black dog my NYPD father named BRUTUS>>>>and instead of it "playing" with me,  or  "moving away"  or "knocking me off its back ,"   it tore my throat out .

Uh huh....and what asylum did you escape from?  Is there a reward for returning you?

by Uglydog on 16 December 2008 - 00:12

I wish people could just be civil. I dont understand why thats so hard??

I also wish people could answer simple questions.

I read Tina's Book. On page 16 (I think) she stated clearly-'Foo foo dogs is where the money is at' Not Schutzhund dogs.

She went into that direction and seems honest about her motives.  SHe also claims to have titled in Schutzhund 14 times, but asserts that most of it was done prior to 1971, and before official records were kept.

I could not see in any part of the book, ANY mention of a Shiloh dog titling in Schutzhund by Tina, or by anyone else. I was simply curious.  Book here:

I have the book and have read it--DUH--yes Tina trained in ScH back when it was NASA.  NOWHERE in the book does it say there is a ScH trained Shiloh.  By the way, I have known Tina since she was still with SKC--we used to write back and forth.  I even went so far as to try to defend her on this very database and she jumped on me like stink on s&&&t.........I lost anything I felt for her at that time. I think it is BS what she says about the dogs she remembered.  If you look at the older dogs they were smaller,  people., not bigger.  A shiloh is nothing more than a designed mutt. Period.  And if a mutt is loyal enough and has the drives he will give his life to protect you. I do believe they tend to have bad hips and that's JMO.  The only one I ever knew in person had a very poor temperament and bit the hell out of me for walking too close to it.  By the way the dog was in a warehouse with a lot of people working around it and I was loading supplies.

Its about 29 degrees here in tejas at the moment. something I am NOT used to!!!!  I think my dogtra collar just stoped working or my fingures are too cold to press the button so I need to take a break in my office. So I guess I will reply to this.   If you look at the early pics of GSD in Maxs book or other books...the GSD of the "OLD DAYS' looked more like a....um......Malinois. Not a big huge fuzzy bear. Yes when I was 7 years old...my GSD King looked HUGE.....but was only about 79 lbs.   Gotta go....my fingures are thawing...and I have another trial this weekend. peace.....D
