It's rare to see blatant doubling at an AKC all breed show, more so at the GSDCA independent specialties. Even the most outrageous doubling at an AKC show doesn't come near to what I've seen at SV shows. I never saw doubling before I attended NASS where I stupidly stood in the doubler's lane where I was almost blitzed by a very large blonde amazon yelling into a bullhorn. Never did that again.

AKC reps live to be able to report AKC judges for ignoring GSD doubling at an all breed shows; those judges will be reported to AKC and reprimanded without a doubt. The reps rarely attend AKC independent specialties so most judges don't blink an eye at doubling there where they know they are safe. AKC owners may hide behind a post or a friend to encourage their dogs to look for them at all breed shows , but you'll never see them running around the rings with bells and noise makers screaming in German like they do at SV shows. The AKC rep would be on them in a heartbeat.

That must have been a while ago, bz, OB trials are now held far away from the confirmation rings in their own area. That's a good thing.

Mystere  -  in Germany, hips/elbow can be done at 12 months and bitches can be bred at 20 months (after titles and breed surveyof corse).

Really curious to know what Judge(s) the GSDCA has lined up.  And how the helpers will be selected.  Apart from the steep hill to get to the new Purina Farms Working Dog field, the venue is excellent.

I think the judges will soon be approved; the club knows who they want and is in the process of contacting them. I haven't heard how the helpers will be selected.

Three national level helpers from the national level helpers that have joined us, will be appointed,-- the judges will place them---male, female, alternate

Was just told that anyone can enter the GSDCA Sieger Show.  You DO NOT need to be a GSDCA member to enter and there will be NO non-member fees charged for non GSDCA members.

Lots of details are being worked on and as they become available the information will be posted!

Keith Grossman

"from the same person that, last year, at the last minute planned a regional conformational show on the same weekend as nass..."

There was nothing last minute about our plans to hold our show that weekend and the people who attended to it would not have gone to NASS anyway.

"tisk, tisk.... Kieth, you've already shown what kind of a sportsman you are."

You seriously have the audacity to question someone's sportsmanship while you support the people who caused the drama at NASS in 2012 that resulted in myself and many, many others leaving the WDA?  That says far more about you than it does about me.

Keith--she's still beating the same old drum--instead of facing up to and correcting the crap that been going on at Nass for the last couple of years,(let alone the rest of the organization) why not blame it on a regional show, put on by a club in a different organization and what about 800 miles away from where Nass was?
Useless to even discuss it---everything that is going wrong with that organization is someone else's fault (their opinion)

So since this is a GSDCA event, does that mean it also has AKC approval or is that not necessary since they plan to use SV judges and not AKC judges?

by Blitzen on 13 July 2014 - 23:07

I don't think the AKC has to approve it since there are no AKC points involved.
