Hope this post wasn't too long for you to follow, I tried to keep it short.

What does that mean, bz?

by bzcz on 01 October 2014 - 20:10

It should make sense to you and you should understand it to make it your own.  It it doesn't, or you don't, then don't use it.

by Blitzen on 01 October 2014 - 20:10

never mind

bz you are taking it personal.  I am sorry for that.  The comments about the long statements wasn't directed at you or even at anyone in particular.  The 8th sentence Baffeling with bull was in relation to the previous sentance about the long statements.  What I was trying to say was some peoples long statements trying to make themselves sound knowledgeable was in reality just a lot of long winded statements that didn't accomplish anything.  I'm not your adversary.  I think your very knowledgeable and enjoy your insights in many areas.  I sure enough wasn't trying to start an argument.  Just trying to offer help to the original poster and explain to you why.  If I got under your skin I appologize and if we ever meet I will buy you a good quality bourbon.  (my choice of drinks.  if it isn't yours I will buy you what ever you wish) And we can sit back and relax and talk GSDs or anything else you wish.

RD,

We're good it didn't bother me.  The line I couldn't figure out was,

So to help a person out who is trying to find information to help them sort things out so as to fit their requirements can save them time and aggravation.

Not sure how that fits in the topic or if I understand it correctly.

LOl yea badly fractured sentence.  Must learn to proof read before hitting submit.

Translation

My desire is to help a person to sort through all the information that may be available to them from several different sources including here.  So that they can find the information that is relevant to their needs.  Saving them time and the aggravation of going through all kinds of unnecessary irrelevant material.

I am not saying its not important to recognize the female as 50% of the equation.

I was just saying why do you need to know my bitch's pedigree?  I can tell you she is sired by a German VA, and I imported her as a pup from Germany.  You are trying to argue with me about the temperment and physical characteristics needing to be matched to a sire (which I agree and can make that judement better than any of you over a form post), and I was just saying I don't think you need the bitches exact pedigree to refer a stud.  Assuming any bitch that is worthy of being bred has a top pedigree, I think the most important thing from a pedigree standpoint would be getting zero linebreeding.

There are millions of breeders out there and very few produce top quality dogs.  Many of you in my opinion can talk the talk but can't walk the walk.  You call me a newbie and I bet I have higher quality dogs and more experience than most of you giving me negative remarks.

Most of you probably don't use studs of this quality or even consider it because your breeding programs aren't to this level yet.  We have access to so many good studs why settle to breed to anything that is unproven?  90% of breeders I see have one stud dog and they breed it to the same bitches over and over and claim they have good pups.  My philosophy is only breed to the best studs available!

I don't care who say what is THE BEST, I personally would *never* buy a puppy from a breeder that said his bitch's pedigree was irrelevant.  JMHO  I have a dog I believe is a nice stud and has a lot more training and titles that the dogs previously mentioned but like hell I'm going to let just anyone come breed their bitch and not share a pedigree.

As I said earlier and has been proven thru multiple posts by several different poster's comments.

The mentors are out there, the hard part is getting them to listen.

1GSDawg, maybe you should ask Goldfarb and Diaz for information on what those dogs have produced? They are both members here or their contact information is on their websites. I feel sure they keep records on Nino's and Chacco's breedings. Then you can decide for yourself which dog would be better for your female.

Your original post gave the impression that you were new to the breed. Sorry, because of the wording I assumed you were a newbie. Never assume..
