Screaming and yelling and calling their dog a POS won't stop them from breeding it either. There are many people thankfully, that come here and learn something, enough that they decide not to breed their current dogs, even though that was their intent when they purchased it as a pup. Too many people shut down and wont listen if you rip into them, I'm that way myself. If you come at me hard, I'll react with a punch before I ask your reason for coming hard. I'm the first one to stand up and tell it like it is, I wont lie and say it's a fabulous dog if it's not, but I can try to do that in a constructive manner. If you can't point out the negatives and address why it's faulty or how to improve it, it's best to zip it. (Shoot your dog in the head and then buy one of my awesome pups, probably wont work 99% of the time)

I'm sure there are countless people on the board, who wanted or have bred in the past, that stopped and took a look at the reason, read about the SV and experienced breeders and took it upon themselves to do better. ( I know this because I have read it, and was proud of those people for doing the right thing) Most of the US doesn't even know there are people out there with a method and a program. Breeders who think about lines and ahead 2-3-6 generations, breeders that know what lines they will bring together and for what result. I'll bet 95% or more of the population  thinks putting 2 dogs of the same breed together is all there is to it, until they learn. People come here to learn, all we can do is hope they learn the right things and make honest decisions, when it's all said and done.

Paranshep, even you evolved out of the ASS sludge you were in for years and years. Nobody knows it all and nobody is done learning. We are all in different stages of the learning process. Even I thought at one time I was doing something good, by paying way too much for a Sch 3 Showline female out of Germany and breeding her KKL1 butt. 2 years later...would I do it again? Shit no. That dogs was a POS. She may have been something in her younger years, I dunno but her titles meant nothing, by the time she got here. Midnight trials / someone beat an out into her so hard she wouldn't work anymore? I had her bred on the way here so it was all said and done before I knew it was wrong. Luckily the pups came out nice enough, no nerve issues and they were placed in pet/working homes. Systems fail and humans error, that will never change. No dog is perfect and not all crappy dogs are worthless (not to their owners at least).

I think Sue said it right. Non of this is about soft hearts or PETA lovers.

Man, I thought I owned a dog.  A dog that would work.  Something I could have fun with, beyond playing fetch.  \

Some of you people are nutz!

At the end of the day, they are still just dogs.  No more, no less.

First, lets deal with the number of people, who like I, reiterated the faults and others I pointed out as to why the owner should not breed the particular bitch in question.  What should concern all of you, is when the person that caused all this uproar wrote,"Thanks for your comments Veronica but I am not planning on breeding her any time soonIF i ever breed her it will be to a proven male only but I have no plans on it at this point in life

They fail to say, after receiving so many comments to the contrary(no matter how nicely worded), they won't breed her.  I also found it amusing the dogs name was" Phoenix", the kennel name of the breeder everyone assumes is me!<BEG>

If you were smart you would have read the very first post and you would have not have written the one above but sice you didnt i will copy it and paste it s you can shut up

I would like to know your oppinion on my girls physical flaws and strengths. I know people do this all the time but if for some wierd reason  decide to breed her one day i want to know what I would need to compliment he and strengthen her flaws.

I never said i was going to breed her but you didnt read that did you.

This thread would never have got to this point had P'shep not been rude, pompous, and meanspirited to smartguy when he asked for opinions on his female.

Funny, I remember a banner on the Long Island Expressway warning people against buying a GSD from Frank.  I also remember an ad in Newsday's classified about a class action law suit against Frank and the poor dysplastic puppies he was selling.  Then this same "Frank" got into German Show line Dogs.  He also became an AKC judge just to sell his puppies.  I went to him in 1994 looking to buy a GSD puppy, he was puzzled when I said "no thanks, I'm not interested in any of your dogs.  Smooth salesman though.   This can't be the same "Frank" as 4 pack points out?  Although the website is the same.   I was really un happy when I heard he got into German GSD's.   He was a blight on the American GSD for years.  I can only hope he has little or no impact on German line GSD's.

Wow!  A “civil lawsuit” that all breeders selling dogs by contract, should read the judges written legal deci

The case even made the New York Law Journal!  Unfortunately though, whenever it is brought up, its only intended to malign with implied slanderous overtones.  It seems no one ever wants to mention the legal details.  You know, THE FACTS!  I do and did.  But then few dog breeders bother to study contract law that is why I keep reading about so many of you claiming to get screwed.  The most interesting thing about this case is not only what led up to it, but also what occurred after.  The people involved sued in a small claims court. Anyone with even a smidgen of the legal system realizes class actions suits are tried in much larger courts. The original case was not held in an open court, however the judge was quite detailed in her responses to each case.  It is from the “New York Law Journals” posting of the Judges “written decision” I will quote from.  However, after this case, was over, suddenly there were two other purchasers of his dogs that attempted to sue for the same reasons.  They thought he’d cut and run after losing.  Anyone that has ever met “Frank” knows that he would rather fight anyone, OF any sex, rather than run.  The others also were in small claims court where anyone with time on their hands can sit in and listen to what transpires.  I am retired and like to see how judges “judge” and lawyers react as trial lawyers.  Among other things in my life I’ve been a landlord and have owned numerous corporations, so I have sued numerous times and been sued myself.  Most lawyers make lousy trial lawyer.

Based on the knowledge of these cases, I will submit the written facts I have available regarding them.  From the beginning, even though “Slamdunc” gave them out of order, in the way they occurred.  It is my belief, that if you catch a person in a lie, real or implied, the rest of their statements should all be considered questionable. A lie to me is an untruth, no matter how sugar coated. Lets begin with many of his statements taken one by one.   Then I will expose the provable lies.

1.      “Slamdunc” wrote,” I went to him in 1994 looking to buy a GSD puppy, he was

puzzled when I said "no thanks, I'm not interested in any of your dogs.  Smooth        salesman though. “    “Paranshep” responds back with, “Can you prove you ever went to his house?  That in itself, that particular statement is important, we all have people come to our houses that don’t buy dogs.  By your own admission, you were seeking an American bred Shepherd.  However, it was one of your ending remarks that kind of told me there is more to your “relationship” with “Frank” than just a casual visit to his home.  He can be one rude son of a bitch and doesn’t suffer fools gladly.   Perhaps jealousy of his success with American shepherds?  Anyone can respond to his website and “Contact us” page and he will respond with a reply.  His signature line clearly lists his successes in breeding and titling in the American and German show ring.

For those that bother to read this, these next “facts” may vary slightly, but the AKC has a judge’s book.  It lists all the judges and those able to judge the German Shepherd breed.   Hard to prove census figures, but I believe there are approximately 350 million legal citizens in this country.  The last time I checked that book, there were only about 300 active German Shepherd Speciality judges in the country.  Giving up 50 million or so people my division indicates any American GSD judge is one in a million!  Further, there are some pretty strict requirements by the AKC to become a judge.  Wanting to sell dogs, is not one of them.  I believe the old AKC law was the “10-4-2” rule.  Ten provable years in the breed showing dogs, having bred four or more litters and having titled at least two dogs you bred yourself to the title of Champion!  You are also subjected to numerous interviews with AKC reps, must judge several shows and steward almost as many to prove you know ring procedure.   No one becomes a judge to sell puppies.  In fact, many were surprised he personally quit showing dogs in the AKC ring after becoming a judge.   Of course, despite your positive sounding statements, you really are a bit of a light weight in the memory department.  One might conclude, “your not the sharpest tack on the wall”! ( continued)
