Dang Joan I can see you mom's logic now. Some of those rocks ARE just way too frisky............Everyday another one crawls out.

Aadilah, I got some real quick news for you. Thsi site was never set up just for fans to post pedigrees up and ooh and ahh over them. It was set up tp help breeders. That are serious and professional about the whole thing. So it's very material what we like and what we don't. And again if there were no breeders there'd be no fans.

Actually I came on here to talk about the video--I just watched it about 2 am--if videos aren't embedded in the post I rarely watch them. And the post it was in had so much other stuff about ED and OFA and all that I figured it was more of that. Why did Mellmell herself not put that video up? Why did the dog have a pinch collar on in the crate/house? He looked like he wasn't moving so good so its doubtful extra control is needed. If you are going to take a video to show a health problem with movement then why wasn't the dog at least walked across the floor instead of sitting there crying. Yes crying and holding up his foot like his knee joint was in pain, not his elbow. And IF it truly was his elbow then why wasn't he layihng on something more comfortable than a hard crate floor with no padding. And the last thing is the dog acted scared to death of her. What has been done to him to take him from a normal puppy like the video that was posted recently of her puppies to that> You know that video may evoke a lot of sympathy from the foo foo AR people; but for people who can read dogs, I see a few red flags--a couple of things I'm not even mentioning here. Don't get me wrong, my heart breaks for the dog, but something is damn fishy about this whole situation.

Now I have to go spread more joy with my opinions and then get some work done today. Got a new phone yesterday and haven't even put it together to charge the battery much less get it activated.

Amen, Vonissk.

Situations like this are what made me decide to take a bit of a break. Most have no idea what it does to a breeder to send a puppy to a home and have something like this happen. Unfortunately, it's all too easy for someone to abuse or neglect a dog and have know-nothing foo foo "dog people" blame it on "genetics." If you can read a dog, that video is more than a little, um, interesting. I'm sure Joanro wishes and hopes with all her heart that it WAS simple genetics- because the alternative is horrifying!!!

Vonissk....shame poor thing...so you want to breed without people criticising or praising your stock...

Since when did you become the webmaster, "Thsi site was never set up just for fans to post pedigrees up and ooh and ahh over them. It was set up tp help breeders. That are serious and professional about the whole thing."

Rather go and play with your new toy...

Thumbs Up Absolutely Jenn. One other thing before I go. Not only this thread but the one over in the GSD section about the Czech dogs and HD---until somebody can show me some documentation as in xrays or a vet report--and I might even be skeptical of that at this point--then I just consider it all a bashing fest. I don't want to see any names and pedigrees of dogs until I have documentation--the whole picture--otherwise it's just unhappy people. And then for these new people to show up and start telling us what to do and how to do. I find that--to quote you--interesting. Like that song Things That Go Hmmmm......................

Be careful vonissk, a new broom sweeps clean...

Poor Joanro, shame you poor thing...

Jenni78, Joanro cannot be wishing it was genetics, did you look at her website...she is maintaining "near perfection" because she is breeding from Czech dogs that were almost perfect...How can she breed Mel's dog with Elbow Dysplasia...

I now see where Joanro's defense drive is kicking in from...
She saw and commented on my post re Czech dogs with bad hips...

Near perfection, bad hips, bad elbows, doesn't make any sense....

My Comment on "Breeder taking offense is immaterial"...means that I don't care whether a breeder takes offence OR not...

We have a right to caution others and also take caution from others.
We also have a right to compliment others and to take compliment...

 Your questions to me are immature, however here is FYI;
BTW: I am a breeder, I have bred 7 litters in the past 6 years and all these litters are recognized by the SV...
Being a fellow breeder does not mean that I will condone/accept the way you behave and treat your puppy buyers...

The post on the CZ dogs with bad hips is a big worry and my fellow GSD fans/owners/breeders should know about this...
The problem dogs should be eliminated from breeding programs...Breeders need to be more responsible...it should not be only for the money...
What happened to the passion, the desire to breed super quality dogs...

Both of you are pitiful. I have seen far more than either of you will ever see. So you have bred 6 litters in 7 years. I have only bred 6 in 26 years--guess I took a little time to learn about the breed.  BTW I did listen to the video and I heard it all. With him sitting there holding his foot up it shows absolutely nothing. His knee may be hurt. His foot may be broken. Quit posting those links. BVA has nothing to do with the documentation of this dog. You don't need to tell me anything about ED or HD either--my original mentor was xraying dogs before it was the "in" thing to do. And what about Joan and I being friends? I am friends with a lot of people on this board because I have stuck around and LISTENED and WATCHED. People like you and your buddy come and go. Something isn't right with this situation, much less the video.
And your buddy Aa whatever--a new broom sweeps clean huh? Is that a threat? Save it for someone else. I'm not going anywhere. I have paid my dues to be here, there and anywhere else I want to be in the GSD world. You guys have a nice day.......................

Huh, so that's what polygenic means, Allan? Boys and girls, we're learnin' new things here today!

To quote our new resident genius:  ED is a polygenic disease which means that some dogs show no, or very few signs, while others go lame. It is the degree of severity that determines whether the disease is passed on to the offspring, and joanro owned two of the worst.- Allan F.
