Glad to have you home, safe and sound! Thanks for the service to the country....

Again, thank you all. While in this topic (non dog related), have any of you ever heard of seen video of the disgusting hate mongers known as the Westboro Baptist Church?

These vile hate sicko's go to the funerals of American Soldiers killed in war and PROTEST. They picket with signs that say such things as "God hates fags" , "Thank God for dead soldiers", etc.... While family and friends of the departed mourn during a funeral, these pigs shout out "God killed your son/daughter for being a fag" & "God killed your son/daughter for being wicked"  and some very foul, ill slurs. Not that it matters but, most of the soldiers arent even gay! How rotten have people in this country become? It is the most disrespectful and insulting gesture I have ever seen. You can google the group and see their INSANE website with rantings about dead soldiers. You would be shocked at the videos of them during their "protests". Without turning this into a debate about the war, nothing but respect and gratitude should be shown to the deceased and their grieving families.

I for one would sure love to be at the next funeral they show up at....

God bless America and all the soldiers & families who have sacrificed the ultimate.

From a former member of the US Military Service myself, I must say thank you also.  I was indeed one of the fortunate and made it thru my spell in the Army without having to participate in war.  Although, I sometimes feel guilty for not having had to pull my weight in that way, I do know from my buddies that did and are what hell it is and I pray daily for all of you good men and women that are performing this very hazardous, sometimes (but not always) thank-less job.

Please do know that there are still many here that do indeed thank you every day for the selfless acts you and they perform for our daily freedoms.

Glad you made it home safely.  Hope that celery is good.

To all soldiers and their families who serve, have served and will serve this country, thank you and bless you all. 

There's a group that was formed specifically to prevent the protesters from disrupting military funerals, called the Patriot Guard.  Please check out their website:  http://www.patriotguard.org/.  They're doing a good job of making sure the families of fallen soldiers are given the respect and honor they fully deserve.

Your service time is just as important asevery other service member. Peacetime or war, the military lifestyle is rewarding but involves plenty of hard work & sacrifice. Alot of people cannt begin to comprehend what doing p.t. at 4am is whether you feel like it or not!

Factoid:  For every 1 pair of boots fighting on the ground, 10 pair are in the rear providing support & logistics. This includes the supply of food, fuel, ammo, and other supplies, along with different levels of medical care and command & control.  EVERY JOB MATTERS!

 thanks and i also serve! i'm serving tour #2 right now and should, yes that's a should be home in sept. my family makes it ok on military pay, and most that can't need some finance counselling. it's not as easy as making 50+k a year but life is ok.

 your right though, we didn't ask for this war or to be deployed here. we ARE just following orders! we train for war and pray for peace. i found the best therapy for returning home from decensatizing is a good dose of my shepherds! not that the family isn't great, but i can't wait to get home and do some training.
