Forgot to add to LEO and SAR only not to pet homes or breeders!

I checked the OFA data base (including prelims).  I looked under the names the web site says are the registered names of the dogs.  Of the 3 dogs the breeder lists as her breeding males, only  one had a rating with the OFA and that was  Fair hips.  Of the 4 brood bitches, only 2 had OFA records (both had GOOD hips).  Now on their website they say all their breeding stock has OFA ratings.  Whats up with that?

I may not be right but I don't think the original Rin Tin Tin was ever bred to cvreate the Rin Tin Tin lines she uses from the 50's.  I wrote her once and asked her.  She told me when Lee Duncan found the original-sable-RTT that where he was found was originally a kennel and that's how they gopt his papers.  Anyone ever heard this story before?  I myself find it hard to believe but that is just my thoughts.

Also no way would I pay 3500 for one of those pups.  In the 80's I went to look at some pups that were out of her pedigrees--washed out and scared to death of his own shadow.  Even though I was new to the breed at that time, I knew that was nothing I wanted.

So, not all breeding stock is OFA'ed, the dogs don't meet minimum conformation standards, they are pale ,  washed out & can't work.  Don't talk to me about the dogs they donated.  We have no clue whether those dogs ended up working or washed out of programs.  BUT they are decended from Rin Tin Tin (he was famous for being in the movies - wow).  Well, hell yes, by all means, breed away then.  What could be better?

This thread has nothing to do with the breeding of these lines.  This thread has nothing to do with the price of their pups.  This thread was only started by me because it was mentioned on another thread that alot of people used to watch RTT and we fell in love with GSDs from that.  This thread was started with a link to provide a little history of the dog that made us fall in love with GSDs.  I wish people would take it as how it was intended instead of ripping a dog, his owners, his legacy, his working skills - yes acting is work, not schutzhund granted, but work nontheless and the price a kennel chooses to ask for his progeny apart.

No one said you have to like the dog or agree with the kennels policies.  Can't you just take an original post for what it's worth and not turn it into a bashing session?  The negativity by some people on here is really sickening.

Okay, it's a real crying shame that Rin Tin Tin #5985 has passed away.  Boo Hoo.

"The Nation Mourns the Loss of Rin Tin Tin".  Talk about self aggrandizement & self promotion!!!  Why stop there?  How about "The Entire Universe is Prostrate With Grief Over the Loss of The Greatest Dog Ever to Breathe Prompting Mass Suicides - Film at 11:00"   Come on, you've got to admit it's a little self serving.

Yeah, so which of those movie dogs you posted in your new thread has conformation that's going to get it a championship in either the AKC or German showring??

Gawd, y'all make me SICK!
