Hats off to Tina Barber when it comes to the Shiloh Breeding in my dogs pedigree!!!!! It took me awhile to track down the info, but I finally got it. The link on top is what I found to be the foundation of the Shiloh in my lines. Ch.Campaigners Gunsmoke left me with people on the board telling me to get rid of the Shiloh in my dogs. I am very proud to have them there. There is no other dogs than GSDCA top dogs dating back to the 50's, Holland Seiger of 56. I will proceed to go back all the way with my research. Thank you Ms.Barber, I have myself a bunch of wonderful dogs thanks in part to your EARLY Breeding practices.

Thwe se shilohs are total aberations. Unbelievable self motivated, self serving rationalizations presented to support their obvious degeneracy. Not legitimate GSDs.  Have no place being promoted on this GSD site. Bold faced persversions of past GSDs. One on the biggest lines of crap I have ever heard! Go back to you own site and pedle your degenerates there.

Lions & Tigers & bears & blues & whites & pandas & coats & shilohs  OH MY!!!  I guess it must be a full moon somewhere because this is nuts!  These dogs do not meet the FCI German Shepherd standard & are therefore substandard.  And thats fact.

Let me say, I am not in any way associated with the Shiloh breed founder.  I truly recognize a well bred GSD, and I'm associated with many people who are active GSD breeders and trainers.  However, I AM an owner and breeder of Shiloh Shepherds, which I feel are distinctly different from any GSD, including the multiple continental variations of the standard: US Bred, East German, West German Show, Czech, etc...

I think a lot of GSD fanciers miss the point with Shilohs.  Granted, due to Ms. Barbers definition of the breed on her website, you'd think she was trying to breed a "better" version of the same.  All I can say is from years of first hand experience in the breed, Shilohs in no way resemble GSD's in temperament or appearance.  Point:  Shiloh Shepherds have their own breed standard, and it's ludicrous to continue to compare them to a GSD any more so than a Great Pyr, a Malamute, or a Chinese Crested.

Apart from the founder breeding dogs that appealed to buyers who sought oversized GSD's in the 80's and 90's, and possibly through the introduction of that supposed Malamute in the late 90's, Shiloh Shepherds have become something quite different from any GSD anywhere.  It's certainly not to say they're in any way better, but it's important to know there are countless breeders who are doing full health testing prior to breeding (hips, elbows, heart, thyroid, cert, dna) who are breeding and showing to the Shiloh Standard, who are trialing their dogs in various sports and disciplines, and who see the Shiloh Shepherd as a unique, large Shepherd type dog - but certainly not a GSD.

Our club is very proud of the accomplishments of our Shiloh Shepherds.  If you care to look, please see: http://shilohs.issdc.com/ISSDC/ISSDCDogsAtWork.htm .  Be sure to follow the links to see all our titled dogs per catagory.

Thank you for reading my post:

Jeff, SORRY you think that pedigree is so awful. I guess dogs that were considered true to the Shepherd standard were not good enough for you. I thought that Dixie von der wienerau was a good name, there appears to be several Weinerau dogs related to her that are named in the Seiger list. What do I know though, maybe that list reads differently to me than it does you. I see Standard, Standard, Standards, yet that means nothing. My point being is, THE SHILOH I have in my lines were totally within the German Shepherd Standard, then, and given recognition by the German Shepherd Standard.

Kitkat, didn't mean to hurt your feelers. Let me just say that there are a lot of crappy temperaments and very little working ability in that pedigree.

Dixie was a favorite of show people, but one dog to say anything good about??? I am very familiar with many of the dogs you posted, so sorry, it is a horrible pedigree. One or two decent dogs (at best) are not what you want as a foundation.

The wonderful Lance, whose near sickle hocks was a sickly pup, and his looks has taken us down the path that we see the results of today with dogs running about on their hocks.

Nothing I would breed anything out of. I have seen and owned dogs with similar pedigrees to this, and the litters were fluckey at best.

FINALLY!!  You've said something I can agree with 100%%
