Fine, "maybe" these major defects do happen.  But, she should replace that dog with one of their multiple upcoming breedings that I see are planned or give you a refund.

I see too that she breeds Giant Schauzers and Standard Poodles.  Seems to have "quite" the racket!

Well as we all know for those of us that frequent this database, there are always two sides to a story. I'm not saying that Von Erzengel is not telling the truth. I am merely saying that before we all go and talk badly about a breeder, we have to know all of the facts. It is indeed tragic that this puppy has alot of medical problems, ( so we are being told), but we have also read many a complaint that should not have been on this board. Sometimes an unhappy client doesn't get their way, or the dog they wanted and they trash a breeders name, I can name a few breeders on this board that are very reputable and yet some have complained about them. It's just not right to only hear one side without hearing the whole story. We do not know the situation, nor circumstances between this puppy buyer and the breeder. I for one have had the client from hell and let me tell you,  one was more than enough. They to also felt they were screwed and taken advantage of, but  the fact is, only the breeder and the client know the whole truth.  A breeder is not God and cannot always know if something will go wrong with a puppy.  All you do is the best you can. Does anyone have littermates from this breeding? Are they also sick?  If indeed this is true, then I'm sure steps will be taken by both parties to make this right. But remember, those of you that have bred and sold puppies, there is almost always someone that is not happy and expects you to move heaven and earth for them.  I do hope that this puppy does not have to suffer much longer and that the owner does the right thing. I am sorry for all you have had to go thru Von Erzengel, I have had to put down puppies that were purchased for showing and breeding. I learned from the experience and just moved on.

Sincerely,

Debbie

I agree this pup should be at the very least replaced with an apology at that. If this would be one of mine I would replace/refund ASAP (I would have never sold a pup abnormal tongue/gum formation in the first place). Abnormalities like that are visible to the breeder before selling the pup.

Yes and it certainly seems like they have plenty of dogs to replace that pup with!

tirzah07, you are correct.  Alcazar GSDs is doing an admirable job breeding for good health and clean joints in their GSDs.  Just look at their hip and elbow producing record.  Hat's off to these responsible breeders from California. It's really admirable when a GSD breeder carefully breeds to produce healthy, clean joints along with good appearance and color.   Contrast this to the lack of controls and little concern for health by the producers of the Z litter and their apparent willingness to breed again no matter how serious the health and joint problems in the progeny are.  Here you have one example of the worst compared to one example of the very best. It's like night versus day.

Von Erzengel: Had the same exact thing happen to me   8 years ago , top known in this countty...wont honor contract , wont anwer certified mail ,or phone calls ,  so contracts , as I am learning are not worh writing on toilet paper in some kennels in this country.....and who in the cathair is gonna travel all the way back accross usa to take them to court or havae to do it by an attorneh by phone and by , a gratus quo"

Good luck  If I had know about this board at that time, I would have been the first one posting ,  its all over now , so maybe this Z litter owner will get the message and come up here and do the right thing    Where in Texas is this breeder of Z litter...?????? I believe this man or lady and until we make people take responsibility for underhanded deals in the dog world, and what eats me , is my litter was advertised in the USA Schutzhund Magazine, called to me by a member of Schutzhund, to go from Michigan to the state this litter was in , and then the head of schutzhund tells me   Oh I bought a pup from them also, and it had bad hips,.....no big deal   go buy you another pup.....wonder why  sour taste in mouth??????

This is a forum of great people ,dont get me wrong...but unless these things come to light , every one sits in their easy chairs and thinks all is wine and roses on the forefront.......not so.....I dont hold this against anyone in Schutzhund or any other breeders,,,,,,,,but why do we let it go on....and no one helps people get something done....maybe someone here can jog a bolt loose in this case and get to the bottom of it...and have a pup go back and get a pup that he so bought and was told would be honored by a contract and word of this breeder...not a hard thing to do  if you are worth the salt you have in you...............................................

VonErzengel puppy with major defects

You cant stop the breeder from breeding these dogs again. It's quite obvious the true motives for breeding these dogs,  Money $$$$$ with 11 puppies.. heck you can make 10 x more than you could with only 5 puppies. Maybe this bitch could produce 11 more major defected puppies and have more angry clients demanding their money back.

I'm terribly sorry for what this breeder put you thru. Only thing that I can suggest for you to do is to contact AKC and file a complaint and to let them know that they're breeding a dog (Caliber zet Eurosportu) whos ancester (Ben z Bolfu) has HD. I would also sugguest go to http://www.ripoffreport.com/ and also file a report about this breeder.. file a report about this to the BBB at http://www.bbb.org/complaint.asp

If you're really desprete to get the word out, Contact your local news media and newspaper and let them know about what this breeder is doing and how she refuses to give back your money on a major defected puppy that she sold you.

For legal reasons.. KEEP ALL of your medical bills and all of the diagnoises. This will be very good in the court of law, if you decide to persuit legal action to the breeder.

Make sure you know your local Lemon laws. If this puppy is less than a year old.. you are STILL protected and she HAS to give you your money back regards. It's by law.

Brittany, puppies are covered by the "lemon law". That is for VEHICLES dummy.

And unless there is some sort of contract to use in court, NO breeder has to replace a puppy within one year for any circumstance is ANY state. DDDUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

by trp_k9 on 27 June 2007 - 01:06

As much as I hate to agree with Brittany, she is right. In most states a puppy contract is coverd by the LEMON LAW.
