Kiserhoff- Looks like you've got tough enough skin....you're welcome to stick around.   If you can withstand a linching now and again it's worth sticking it out there are a lot of people that do try to give useful information.  It takes awhile to figure out how to pick and choose the good info from the bad but once you get to know the regulars the process becomes easier and you will learn a little something from everyone.  Sometimes things get a little stagnent around here so we have to light a fire now and again to keep us all on our toes but for the most part it's all in good fun.  Then there's times when some of us get a little passionate about certain issues and then it's not so funny but most of us seem to get over things and then there's other's that just never do.  Good to hear another newbie wasn't scared off so easily.

TY Agar! I am not scared off easy . I am a strong indavidual that loves to learn. I also know what I like in most dogs and am trying to learn what I don't know.

I realize that I am resurecting an old thread but I was doing some searching  in responce to the Kiserhof Kennel Don't go ther thread and came up with the following ad. I feel the info should be posted as a beware to future buyers who may think about dealing with this kennel.  No unfortunately the above query was not a joke it seems that her dogs good bad or indifferent ( mostly the latter two) are her cash cow. This is the ad I found date July 8 at http://www.domesticsale.com/Classifieds/225883.html

Oh my, what does she mean with "unregistered"? The stud dogs are bred to mutts and females with no registration? Therefore, the resulting litters are unregistered? Oh my, that is criminal.

That dog multiplier should visit some shelters and see what happens to all the surplus dogs there.

I am going to be sick now...

What the heck????  LOL her whole ad gives me a headache.

I love this last sentence but I'm not sure what the heck she means!

For the uneducated here are some of the warning signs that you should pay attention to. This "factory" admits to having at least 30 dogs and to using the Continental Kennel Club as a registry - both major signs of a puppy mill. Oh and on their website apologizes for the fact that their current litters have to be born in the house because the kennel building is not finished!!!!!!!

Responsible breeders do NOT offer their studs for unregistered breedings. Responsible breeders do NOT charge a $1000 stud fee for a dog that is unregistered(Paka Dexter). Responsible breeders have a plan and a vision for their breeding program and do not offer one of every kind of shepherd that they can accumulate. Responsible breeders participate in recognized programs that prove the breed worthiness of their dogs (Health certifications,Schutzhund, advance obedience titles -U.D., PAM certification, Breed surveys etc and please note a CGC or TDI cert is not an obedience title) and care about the quality of their dogs.

By the way Kiserhof on a thread you started a year ago ??? about a breeding I am thinking doing???? http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/116022.html  VKFGSD posted the following question to you which was never answered - care to now?

"why on the Jagerstadt website do they have a totally different picture of Jake ( a sable dog)  and indicate that they own him?    http://jagerstadt.com/males.html

TIG, you're right about the CGC and TDI not being actual titles; one is an award and one is a registered therapy dog certification. Both show a dog has been given some training, is reliable in that training, has a nice personality with people, kids and around other animals, and has passed a thorough veterinarian check for healthiness annually-they can't pass such evaluating if they show fear, intimidation, or on the other end of the spectrum, needless aggression, or are unhealthy or parasite-infested. They are still worthwhile items for a dog to earn, if their personality, temperament & overall health condition are up to it, especially if actual temperament certification opportunities are not offered within a reasonable driving distance.
In essence, a dog who has earned such pretty much has to have a nice overall dependable  temperament, healthy and parasite-free.
I wouldn't discourage anyone from earning everything and anything possible with their dogs if they can do it.

As for the offering of a stud for an unregisterable breeding, yes, that's common sense. Why do that? I just looked last night on petfinder.com and was shocked at the number of GSDs and GSD mixes I saw. Someone recently posted about one long-coated female who is there, and she's alleged as having 3 obedience titles. How in the world such a dog ended up on petfinder at a shelter is beyond me; she was someone's pride and joy to put that much work, training and effort into her. How sad.

As for this post: there is not a complete pedigree, so its just unthinkable to determine a dog's breedworthiness on merely eyeballing it (the pics don't show how healthy he is, etc). If he's not got a nice background with proven titled and hip certified dogs, then why breed him? Granted, he might look nice; and if you can title him and hip certify him (due to the lack thereof in his background from what little we DO see), what's to say he's NOT breedworthy? Didn't I catch up there in this post that you said this American GSD has a SchH2, or am I mixing that up with something someone else said? If he does, that's not all that common anymore-good for you!

Ultimately, keep your focus on a goal and quality; never money or fame. Good luck!

Not a problem I am in the process of waiting for her ofa eligability.(sorry bad spelling day) I was just qurious I am not going to do it I just was qurious. She is not even close to the age I want for her to be bred or titled yet. I do talk to the breeders of these dogs and have begun looking into pedigrees and asking lots of ????? 's. The males father is a very nice looking dog but the mother leaves alot to be desired.I am NOT going to do it just a ??? . So I am guessing that is a no. The trainer she is working with now is very good but I am always asking him ?????'s about everything He said the same thing about this .I just was looking for more opinions. I was looking at a male out of Yasko that I liked but there agin This won't happen for another year or so.

This male is Paka Dexter he is now ofa ex I beleive he is on here...

You stated right here in this July 22, 2007  post this Paka Dexter is OFA Excellent but has no papers?  And you don't give papers on his pups due to pedigree? Why would you do something like that?

I wouldn't pay 10 cents to breed one of my girls with a nonregistered stud, much less $1000, no matter how good the alleged pedigree is (no official pedigree means no official proof to me). Well, actually, I'd run off anyone who even suggested me consider doing such.

Did I miss something? Breeding nonregistered dogs, but you wanna better the breed? Where do you wanna better the breed-in the SHELTERS?! Sorry, but I've gotta do this:
