Dog1

I have a question for all the detectives out there following this case. I recall the official report says Max broke his chain, lunged at the officer, and was shot in the process more or less.

Now lets take a look at the picture posted on the link above and make some notes.

Picture shows blood, cable, and collar. Collar is severed, there's blood on the cable indicating what ever bled was on top of the cable in that location when it bled there.

Now answer this.

If the dog was lunging at the officer when it broke the chain collar, it obviously had to be at the end of the cable to do this. Chances are the cable would be streatched out and remain in the relative location where it fell as the collar broke. So when we look at a picture. The cable would be in sort of a straight line as it had to be when it broke from the "Lunge".

The cable is curled by an entrance door. In this location, Max could not have put any pressure on the collar to break it. So what set of circum stances could possibly occur that would put the cable and blood stains in this configuration?

Following the Official findings, Max streatched the cable tight enough to break a chain collar and was shot.... In the hail of bullets he decided to pick up the cable and return it to the porch where he laid on it and deposited some blood as seen in the picture.

How did these events occur to present this picture?

I have a theory too. One that seems to fit the evidence..... Max was shot, retreated to the door of the house to evade the officer and died on top of the cable covering the top of the cable with the blood shown in the picture. One of the shots cut the chain in the proximity of the back door and not 10' away in the opposite direction. I'll bet the rest of the area where the lunge supposedly occurred is grass and the area by the door is concrete as shown. I don't see how the small pieces of collar displayed in the picture could be located and photographed if they went flying through the air on a lunge in a grassy area. I can see them being found on a concrete surface. Next question. How does a lunge seperate a chain link into two pieces? How can anyone pull a chain so hard that a link breaks in two???? They can't. It defies the laws of physics. A chain can break in two but a link cannot. As soon as the link broke there would be no force applied to any part of the link to cause another piece to break off. Go try ti yourself and let me know how it goes.

Yep, the evidence is there and it has spoken. The official report is bull$hit and it's a cover up.

Dog1 great job....the story changed anyway from the first day....

and I do not get how someone on this board can say that the Mattias were in the wrong and cost this dog his life.....that is utter BS.

So what they tied the dog out-did the dog hang himself? NO....Did the dog get caught up in the chain killing himself? NO...being tied out did not kill this dog-being SHOT did!!  If this dog was in the back yard and that PO went back to check for the dude, the PO would have still shot him...them what would the excuse be-OH its their fault for leaving him in the backyard???  Good God....this family has suffered enough without you people blaming them for the cop shooting Max.

They didn't deserve to lose their family member just because he was tied out....There is no law that says if your dog is tied out we can shoot it.

My father was a cop....I happen to respect cops...but they are not all good. They don't all have good judgement.

My friend just lost her son to a police shooting-he had a POCKET KNIFE and was drunk.....cops came-the city cops fired the bean bags at him, he dropped the knife and was heading to lean on the garage door and the county cops shot him 8 times!!  Did this boy derserve to die?  NO

some cops are "cowboys"-

We all need to be open minded enough to realize that just because these people did something we don't agree with, it does not mean the dog deserved to die or that they were in any way responsible.

It could be you next that does something we don't agree with and your dog dies........I wouldn't be coming here for suppport.

Dog1, where can I get a copy of the Official Report?

by Do right and fear no one on 16 July 2007 - 16:07

Under the Freedom of Information Act and other laws, I believe that anyone can obtain a copy of the official report, if they want to jump through the hoops required to do it.  I am sure that Max's owners will have an attorney do just that.

Maybe, two or three years down the road, we will have a verdict in a civil lawsuit.  And No, I can not see the future but I would be willing to bet a hundred bucks that it will be a "settlement, with conditions that the details can not be disclosed".  Any takers?  I am sure that I will live that long, unless my wife ties me out on the front porch and the cops come to investigate the neighbors calling in "yelling and screaming coming from the old man on the porch next door".  Then I may not be around for you to collect from.  If you take me up on my offer of a bet, I will be a good boy so that my wife doesn't tie me out, thus protecting your investment

Dudley, I worked for the Federal Government for 37 years. I'm aware of the Freedom of Information Act. I'm sure that someone already has a copy of the Official Report, as everyone is claiming to have read it or "heard" both sides. One of these fine folks has a copy or they are lying. I'm sure they are all telling the truth, but as of yet no one will share the report with those who have not read it.
