a newbie is some poor fool, that thought HONEST is the best policy,  But HONESTY around here will only get you burried.

ps,  I did not do the Temperament testing or evaluations on my dogs,   know before you judge.  That's is also a policy overlooked on this site.  KILLS ME !!

by JRT on 21 July 2007 - 15:07

sorry for offending you with a typo Nia

I am not the best typist and there is no edit function here - once you hit send you're done! talking on phone and typing sometimes causes one to lose one's train of thought and small fonts and old eyes can make one miss things as well - give me a break here

I do know the difference between there and their, our and hour, which and witch, you're and your, here and hear, confirmation and conformation and a few others as well

the holier than thou critique does nothing to further the discussion

JRT, My comment was not meant for you, JRT. YOU weren't the one criticizing others' reading ability. :-) Echo Meadows, however, has slung those arrows wholesale, while consistently writing "your" in place of you are, misspelling all forms of hypocrit, etc. The "holier than thou" was meant ONLY for the one who has actually been trying to be holier than all. LOL My apologies for the confusion. Nia

JRT  she was speaking to me regarding another thread,   I'm sorry you thought that her comment was at you.  But I am sure it was me she even reffered to the thread I am talking about,  and I know you were no part of that.   just wanted to point that out so you would not feel offended by Nia's post that I am posative was directed at me, and not at you.  :-)

Mystere:  LOL.  Not trying to start a fight here, but I just couldn't help laughing about your spelling of "please" as "Plese", while you were putting down Echo for her spelling mistakes.  Just too funny Mystere.

Echo:  I have always liked you, mostly because of your concern for the dog kingdom, and life in general.  You seem to be a good, caring person,  But, I do think that you have let "them" get to you, which makes "them"  the winners and gives "them" the fuel to go after the next person.  Maybe me, or maybe the next newbie on here that makes a mistake now and then. .  Just roll with the punches, laugh a little, and ignore a lot.

Life is too short to worry about what others think about you.  Just worry about what YOU think about you.

A favorite poem I learned many years ago and kinda, in a way, lived by, is fading from my memory now and if anyone out there knows the whole thing, I would appreciate an email with the words, or even post it here for me.  It is titled "The Man in the Glass"  (meaning mirror for those of you from Rio Linde .       Parts of it go like this:

You can fool the whole world, down the pathway of years, and get pats on the back as you pass.

But your final reward will be heartaches and tears, if you've cheated the man in the glass.

Some might say you're a straight shootin chum, and call you a wonderful guy.

But the man in the glass says you're only a bum, if you can't look him straight in the eye,

That's all I can remember.

Actually this is a fun board with some very sharp people and many who have a good sense of humor.

I like to provide a balanced level of postings from sound advise all the way over to calling people names like a 8 year old.

Any normal intelligent newbie can tell the difference when we are giving serious advise vs just having alittle fun fighting with each other.

End of the day this is an excellent board where everyone can learn if they want to do so.

PS...if my wife saw some of my postings she would banme from this site. lol

LOL but, there is a difference between typos and consistent misspelings. Still, GOOD ONE. Do Right!!

by eichenluft on 21 July 2007 - 16:07

misspelings, Nia?

LOL Nia - after I posted - I looked back and was puzzled as I did not use "your" incorrectly

no harm no foul

DR and I don't think there is alot of "fun" fighting here very often - II have watched it since the beginning & think it gets mean, nasty, abusive & vicious more than not - BUT there are naive people who need to learn who do get help occassionally & some newbies who are arrogant & inflexible who need smacked upside the head as well - in the UK, in India & in the US - there are too many people with hidden agendas

by eichenluft on 21 July 2007 - 16:07

too many people with hidden agendas - indeed.  Such as you JRT?  (who is actually Lee Hough, aka Kougar, TimLC, KHill, Cahill24, BeammeUpScotty, dogford4, Ike2,TheEnd, and ETC.) - talk about hidden agendas - the queen of the trolls - Lee Hough.
