Do Right- I love reading your posts.  Funny shit! lol  You actually described the same scenario my mother in law has gone through with ALL her kids when they first moved out and got their dogs.  She had a training facility for pete's sake and could have gotten then or trained them the ulitimate dog but NOOOOOOOOOOO they all had to go off and do their own thing on a whim and of course it was disatrous for all of them.  In the end they all ate crow and went to mommy to help them "fix" the problem child dog. lol

Male characteristics well defined.........ears could be larger.......stock hair, could be fuller on top.......intense expression..........recommended to improve lack of humor and the sense to not take one's self too seriously.

Do Right, has anyone told you, you look like LT. Dangle from Reno 911? LOL I see a slight resemblance. By the way, how did you bag your wife? Very pretty lady, you did good. Next we would like to see progeny pics and pedigrees.

Sorry I could not get back to you, I was busy training most of the day yesterday, which of course, according to this thread, is a total waste of time for a breeder to do.  Hummm.

Let me make my disclaimer:  I am not talking about showline dogs.  I don't feel even slightly qualified to speak about them, I am talking about working dogs only.

DoRight, you shamelessly use emotional tactics in your arguements...are you sure you are not a politician? LOL

Whimsically comparing the breeding of dogs to people---I admit, it was cute, and rather fun to read and look at the picutures.  Actually, there is an old saying "Better to marry the plain daughter of an attractive and reputable family than the beautiful daughter of a an unattractive disreputable one."  Meaning, that both are a fluke, and the children they have will be like their families.

>>>In the movie "Bodyguard", this world class (really just an actor) personal bodyguard type, has a little bitty mutt at his house to protect him, and when asked why he did not have a big dog that could stop somebody, he said it is because he only needs to be aware that someone is coming, and the stopping is up to him.<<<

Yes, TV is such a good resource for this discussion on work titled dogs.  I saw an ad for a movie yesterday that had a talking dog who could fly.  I can't wait for mine to start doing that! Can you see them flying across the field (literally) searching the blinds?  Whoo hooo, Super Schutzhund!

I agree, and I always have, that a working title does NOT change a dog's genetics.  But it is just a relatively objective test compared to a breeder's personal opinion.  Would you want to hire a doctor who had evaluated his own scores for medical school?  Breeders need someone to objectively evaluate their stock, as it can be very hard to be objective in evaluating our dogs.  Even I surely have some "kennel blindness" despite my best attempts at self-honesty, hence my need to have others make an evaluation of my dogs' working capablities and temperament.
