Proud pappa : You spoke too soon/////////////////////////////////////

Yeah, Jeffie; you leave quite a trail. You should be real proud of the little kids on the tropical fish site you try to intimidate. I hope that's all you're doing.

I need to check on you. If you lie about a tracking score you'll probably lie about your address.

It appears I hit some sore spots, eh Jeffie?

by Jeff Oehlsen on 05 August 2007 - 21:08

Tropical fish site???? Boy your handle must be describing your temperament, and not an ability to correctly find out information.

No need to check on me though, the address is correct, I work at a bar at 1509 Marion st. in Denver as well.

What is it like to try to work against someone like me??? I am eagerly awaiting your visit. I think you should bring your Mom with a permission slip to participate though, I know she is still so close to you, the bad days where she was jealous of your fathers "attentions" are gone now and she has forgiven you.

I can do this all day as well. I find it amusing that someone who has probably never trained a dog, and feels intimidated while reading print, actually thinks that I see this person as a threat.

So what is it that you want to know about teaching tracking?? Obviously this is such a difficult phase for you. Well, on second thoughtl, we can work on it when you "come to visit" LOL

Such a tough guy! ! ! ! ! !

Sorry everyone, but I find it amusing when people do the google search and feel intimidated fron reading print. What does it say of ones psyche when they see things as a threat when there is none??? So if I disagree with someone do they really think that I am gonna come to their house???? Too funny. So bear with me, and try to see this as the joke it really is.

Poor spooky has probably had this work in the past, I think he should hire a bunch of bikers to sit outside my door and smoke ciggarettes. That would be cool. : )

i don't know how this happened exactly, but  JO and spook have totally hijacked this thread.  i hope schh babe got the answers and info she was looking for in the early part, because the latter has turned into a sham.

yvette, i too, would seriously recommend you get ahold of anne kent at adlerstein.  she could really give you a leg up in reading and working dogs.

Ahem... when you guys are done hosing down the board with your spare testosterone, can we talk about helper work technique again?

Yvette I think it's about time they just got out their rulers, took their measurements, compared them and then we could move on with your original post.

Sure, but at this point, have you done any of the work I talked about???

Women doing helper work: well, if you can get the guys to take you seriously, go for it. If I were a guy, I would have been asked to do helper work right away instead of waiting for 10 years, the right club and the guys that did take me seriously and the right woman helper, Suzanne Eviston, to teach me and give me encouragement.  I can honestly say it was the hardest thing physically I have ever done in my adult life and I'm sure not done learning.  Think about it, you learn most sports when you are young! Anyway, I would suggest lifting weights to build up upper body strength but there is also much technique involved that doesn't involve as much strength. Attend helper seminars, including DVG ones, and good luck.

I believe that everyone has some valid points, those about learning to read the dog and those about learning to present the sleeve properly. In my opinion, you need to learn both and not screw up young dogs as a new helper while learning.

And for that lovely arguement about women not having as much presence as men in the blind. Two things: go work your dog on Anne Kent! and I believe it might just be an excuse when their dog rounds the blinds and finds, gasp, a woman, and can't bring the aggression.
