It is funny how nothing around here was ever meant to be rude or insulting.

HELL, I will chime in as I am a Big bone, brick house, fluffy , slightly over weight () woman.  I sweat my ___ off everyday training. and have videos to prove it!

The problem I see is here in America we like things SUPER SIZED - look at our cars, our houses, our dogs (most people think a trim dog is underweight)  and our value meals!

I am with you ZIegenfarm if you can not hold our own dog then you have no business handling it. It is a acciendt waiting to happen (MY OPINION).

GSDnewbie I hear you on the health issues.  I don't know of ONE breeder, trainer, dog lover that does not have at least one health problem! and yes it is hard to get going when every morning you wake up to stiffness and or pain. But we do the best we can and still run with the (correct wording) lighter people -( iluvmyGSD )

My problem is I was personallu born with A genetic flaw the DR says I have above average TASTE BUDS. I like  the finer things in life German Cooking and lets not leave out Italain or mexican or my farovite French but then again I am Polish so ............

ziegenfarm--in that regard, yea your right, you should be able to handle your dog, but doesn't  a protection dog normally have a command word to stop if the dog tried to attack the wrong person? isn't having a gaurd dog in your yard to protect your kids & family the same thing, a child couldn't hold a  dog back and you wouldn't give the child a gun...i'm just spouting thoughts though, ..i've haven't done any protection work with my dog yet and i don't really know what it all involves so i guess i'll just agree with you untill i do..

The reality is as we get older our lifestyles become more demanding with work, kids ect and we have less time to take care of ourselves as we'd like.  Always on the run makes for unhealthy eating habits and less time for workouts.  I'm guilty of it myself BUT since I went through hell and back to lose this weight and managed to keep it off for several years even after having a new baby I make it a point to set out at least a half hour each day to give myself some sort of exercise.

...Ahhh yes that old culprit..age. I'm on the cusp of 30 and already I feel the fabled slowing down of the metabolism creeping up on me

Agar -good for you that you are staying active inspite of life's sucker punches. I'm so peaved that I'm going to get off my duster and take exercise serious now. God I miss 25...

GSDNewbie - I never say eww, just "I wonder why"....

ZIegenfarm - I actually agree with your point about little women and protection dogs, I think the combo actually may pose more of a risk than a benefit. It reminds me of little tiny women who drive Hummer size vehicles, I kinda chuckle when I see their little legs dangling out of the open door as they drop from the driver's seat onto the ground. I guess I'm a bastard like that.

GSDnewbie- i agree with animules, i don't think anyone was trying to be rude...i would not have even bother to write on this thread if they were...i think the problem with message boards is that  it is so hard to really express what you mean with just words, so much of understanding someone is done with facial expressions and tone of voice, almost anything could be taken the wrong way

Goldenelk

Why don't you post a picture of yourself and show all these fat women what physically fit looks like?

yess...gotta be age...im 27 and within the last year my appitite has increased soooooo much, i use to not have such a want for food, heck i had to remind my self to eat...now it's getting to where i think about food almost all day, like im constantly hungry and constantly craving sweet stuff and junk when i use to hate that stuff- never really even cared for chocolate. now i know what people mean about controling hunger...it's very hard!

by GoldenElk on 01 August 2007 - 18:08

Because I don't want to turn you gay Don, I'm just that hot. I wear shades when I look in the mirror so I don't turn my own self gay. I'm telling good looks are a curse

"I'm telling good looks are a curse"

I said that to my wife and she looked at me and laughed.

Show everyone the picture of yourself when you were at the 2005 sieger show.  You know, the one where you are on roller skates, wearing a mesh tank top and daisy dukes.  Oh, and you had those shades on too.
