Some people , even though it is representative of them,,dont give a hoot about web sites and how messy they are....as long as they get the info out and the emails and phone calls......Ive seen worse..

Golden Elk just give Melanie a call. I am sure she would be more than happy to talk to you about dogs. She has advised me on dogs that she didn't own or breed.

Ok let the bashing begin......First off I'm proubly one of the most honest people you will talk to about German Shepherds.

Vickie, it was just a littermate and I don't use photo shop I take pictures of the real pedigrees and post them, I feel  in

these pedigree programs and pedigree database (which I love for information) have more mistakes and false information.

Sax/Suzi, S litter, Lu-ke kennel name.

As far as titles goes I have had and do have titled dogs, there's alot of flimflam there, after months of bonding with so called

titled dogs, and they can't even stay on a sleeve, spare me. I work my dogs if they don't have the balanced temperment

for work or personal use I find pet homes for them. Yes, I'm quite handicapped from a accident in the 70's from a drunk

driver,  but my dogs can do what is asked of them, they are the old Czech dogs with titles. All old proven bloodlines in the same

way they were breed for years. Which is no longer happening, pay attention to what the big boys are doing and why there are

so many  disasters out there now.

All I have done is taken out the major HD train wrecks out of my lines and kept the old good dogs, no one is HD free and if they

say they are they lie, but I do have very very few. I also stand behind my dogs. I was partners with someone who was very dishonest

and I'm no more a part of that because of  that. I'm still cleaning up what was done to me by that person. Won't go there because many

of you like this person.

First of all if you have questions you should contact the breeder.  There are many dishonest ones and some good ones so it can be hard to go through them all and figure that out.  I never dealt with this one but from some of the responses above it seems reasonable to call her with your questions.

As far as titles fro my experience those are a joke.  In Europe it is very common to take crappy dogs out on the weekends drink some beers and get the dog titled.  Doesn't mean the dog is anything but sure increases its selling price.

I looked through her website.  Seen worse organized ones and better, and not a big deal.  Looking at her dogs though there are some interesting dogs in her pedigrees.  They are all mostly old checz dogs and almost all some of the best check dogs i've seen in any pedigrees.  Proven dogs shouldnt really be an issue here.  Her studs are impressive.  Xavior son of Frankie who has over 20 titles.  Itar son of Illo who has 4 or 5 titles and was one of the best checz studs out there.  Was bred to alot of crap but as you can see in Itars pedigree the bitch was an excellent dog so she knew what she was doing when she got an Illo son.  That tells me alot about her right there, as most of the dogs Illo was bred to were complete crap and she knew when the right one came along.  She also has a Norbo son and a Dargo son.   I fail to see how anyone can question these lines.  Look at the pedigrees people, she obviously knows what shes doing, and has gotten rid of nearly all the bad dogs that are out there from her lines.  Very impressive to say the least.   The bitches are also impressive Yaxi a daughter of Sax and Yana.  Kal-tee and Yamka out of Monty and Yana.   I could go on and on.

I would expect titles would be easily got if desired out of these lines, and from i get out of her site and her dogs is she is keeping the old checz lines going and has weeded out the crappy dogs.

The pedigree for Suzi, is obviously the pedigree for Sax.  No big deal they have the same pedigree.  Nothing fishy looking there....if another dogs name was put on it than yes, but a littermate.  I would guess she had Sax up there and instead of doing suzi's she just added her name for speed of time, but she can answer that.

As far as using the database for her pedigrees or another one, these are extremely flawed and these you have to trust the ones entering the info.  This one can be changed by others so is very bad one to go by.  Give me the real pedigree anyday over one entered on the web.  You should all want to see real ones with the real hip/elbow information etc.

Vicki arent you the one complaining people were editing your pedigrees on the web a while back?  Could have you confused with someone else, but I believe I've seen you on other forums and try not to take offense but your a little off for most people.   Obvioulsy from your posts you have issues with this kennel , and from your statements I'm sure we can guess what that went like.

In a breeding program look first at how good the breeder is, what kind of dogs they have, what lines they have stayed with, look at the pedigrees for known bad dogs like Klara for example....you want bad hips  go get her in your pedigrees.  This one has done repeat breedings and has very good looking dogs.

Happy I saw this thread as when I next look for something will check this one out again.  Don't get fooled by titled dogs....sure some of them are excellent by alot of them aren't.  have bad hip histories and will produce more bad hips.  Sure this one can get titles if she desired, she hasn't but looking though her dogs why would you care?  Just fooling yourself on the titled dog issue, and horrible to steer someone away based on parents haveing titles.  Look at whats behind them and those questions are answered.

Howdy,

Well, well, well ...... here it goes again ! I will not say anything about, this dog beeing breedworthy or not, but you guys over there in the new world clearly have a problem to work together to solve obvious problems. As long as breeders claim to do only the very best, and many of them do, but then turn around and not stick with what they, themselve claim to be the right thing to do, it will raise suspision.

I believe that there should be something installed like the German system (SV). Breeding standarts, that regulate and set the standart. You as a "breeder" have the choice wether to join that standart or not. If you do, good, it will pay off in the longrun. If you choose  not to obey these standarts, you will be excluded or penelized in some form, depending on the severety of your missdoing. Pretty simple, isn't it ?  Doing this, it will make it easier for puppy buyers, as they now can exactly see what the breeding standart is.

And yes, there are also crooks here in Germany trying to make a quick buck .......... I strongly believe in the saying : What goes around, comes around ! Soon or later these guys will be singled out here, and we dont see them on shows or trial anymore. But it sure is a headache.

And annother yes, I will never state that a untitelt dog is not capabal to get the job done, if properly trained it most likely will. But it does bug me, if you take all that time to train your dog/s, why in the world would you not just titel that dog ? I know, I would not buy a pup out of untitelt, not koered parents, but hey, if one does not care about that stuff ......, but then again, for me as a breeder this pup & his pedigree (the pup would not even get SV papers) would be worthless for my breedings anyways.

What it all boils down to is : You guys over there need to get your act together, and follow some rules. They dont need to be the same as the SV ( but I surely believe these set standarts to be the best we have sofar), but do something, instead of beating each other up and wasting enerdy.

Melanie of Dragon GSD, I do think your HP is very confusing, but that is none of my buissnes. What I will comment on is, every half way decent breeder trys to eliminate HD/ED, guess what, even breeding with 5 generations of HD/ED free dogs, you may & will encounter displatic offsprings. Since develloping HD/ED is not somely genetic, it will happen. What I do agree to is, by only breeding with the healthiest animals we can get our hands on, we increase the chances of having HD/ED free offspring significantly, but we will not be able to eliminate them entirely. Oh, one more thing Melanie, using one of Mr. Scheerer's dog, in that little "liar- betray" thingy of yours, could easily backfire, as Mr. Scheerer is very powerfull in the GSD world.

Anyways, I sincerely hope that I did not step on anyones toes, as it would be nice, not to read all this bashing and ranting.

Respectfully Ulli Dresbach
