Angela

What good does a temperment test that shows what dogs are "more likely to bite", when there are statistics of dogs that HAVE bitten?

This  is a stupid argument and anyone that thinks this is a valid conversation, must be bored or an idiot.  There are plain as day statistics.  If you want to alter and arrange statistics like a politician, go ahead.  This is the worst argument I have seen on this board, and let me tell you, there have been some whoppers!

Next some idiot is going to come on here and say that Chiuahuahs are the worst, but they never get reported. Who gives a crap?

Abhay,

Threatening you with what? Beavis and Butthead reruns?  I realize that would be cruel and unusual punishment.  LOL

PSP GIVE A CRAP. HAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I have been totally put in my place.  Must have been the all caps that proved your point.  Does it every time.  When someone becomes bright enough, or more likely, accidently, hits the caps lock key, it really bolsters your argument.

The most comprehensive and recent study can be found if you type:

"Merritt Clifton dog bite stats" into Google search engine.

Includes ALL deaths and maimings in the US and Canada from September 1982 until November 2006. This is where I got the stats stated in my post above, they were the most current I could find.

Like I said, this is a stupid argument.  63 serious cases to 1111 is hardly an argument.

Angela,

Why do we all have to look at just the link you're posting? There are numerous links with stats and the one you've posted has the least attacks by Pits.  I'm not arguing here but you're calling people morons for not looking at this particular link.  I happen to have known numerous PBs and don't agree that they are all bad but you can't just change other people's minds because this happens to be one of your breeds of choice.  In ALL other links the APBT is responsible for the most bites, fatal and otherwise.  I can see why some people would be turned off by this.  I personally think circumstances such as background, breeding, upbringing and training all go into the mix but you also have many unprovoked attacks by dogs who before seemed to be sound in body and temperment.  This may be something you want to ignore but others simply would not take the chance, period.  No need to get so nasty.  The same kinds of things have been heaped on GSDs and we all know different.  That's why I posted the stats I did, it seemed to be the most comprehensive and explains what circumstances were involved while giving the most detailed info as to breeds, mixes and even goes into why law enforcement was excluded.  If you know that your link is more accurate please let us know how you know this and why.
