Ha Ha,       That would be funny.  I can't dance for poo, but I can "make" the letters, and have a few times (I don't want to talk about it .  I tried talking them into doing a local commercial using that song (which I have on CD and like a lot), and they won't go for it.  I thought it was a good idea.  I guess they don't want to pay royalties or maybe do not want to be associated with "those" kind of guys.

Oh, my birthday is March 7th and I'm Catholic.
I want to be a veterinarian in the future and also breed working line GSDs sometimes.
I like this site alot, and have learned alot from it and all the nice people on PDB.

Forgot to add that I told them to change the wording a little different.  Instead of "stay", I would make it "play".  I thought it was a good idea and sent it to corporate headquarters via email.  Heard nothing back.

I'm a 54 year old female, widowed nearly 3 years (hubby died November of 2004 from cancer.) I got my first dog when I was in my 30's, and had to have her euthanized a few years later, because of spinal problems. :-(

I taught school for a number of years (biology, French, and outdoor education), then became a nurse. My specialty was palliative care. Little did I know that I'd need to use my skills in helping my husband through his last few months.

My parents died on me during the same time frame (father, May of 2004, mother, March of 2005) and for some reason, after that I lost my enthusiasm for nursing.  I may go back to it once I have recovered a bit more, but right now I stil can't take the stress of working with those who are seriously ill or dying. I am doing health care aid type work to support myself, and am enjoying it. I just wish it were more money!

I currently have 2 GSD's a 5 year old male rescue who is my hearing ear dog, and a 10 month old female, who is my first registered dog. (Though, due to a snafu with her German-born sire's  papers, I am STILL waiting on her registration!!)

My name is Maggie and I am 47 years old, I have one grown daughter and 2 teenage sons! Like the dogs better then the teenagers! I have been married for almost 22 years. I have 3 fleischerheim dogs, Zeus, Narcy, Maizy. I have one that I bought from Fred Lanting. Her name is Connie. I have Nia that I got from Mittelwest. And I have 3 puppies from Maizy. Next week I am going to NASS for my first time! Also the first time that I have ever shown a dog. I am taking Cairo and Nia. Cairo in the 6 th month class and Nia in the 9 month class. We own 2 automotive repair shops, my older son works there and my younger son helps me with the dogs. He is the helper for our club. We do ob, ag, tr, and psa ring sport. I would like to do Sch. but I will do it as a independ. All of the clubs around here do not like showlines. I don't think we even have a conformation show in the area. I live around Atlanta Ga.  I like to work with my dogs and my husband likes to race! Believe me, the dogs are cheaper! lol

Hey there everyone!!  This is really a great idea... I am usually a reader of posts and a dog looker but it is fun to share!!

My name is Shannan and I'm a 34 year old female.  mother of 5 soon to be six "human" children ages 11, 8, 4, 3, 1, and the baby due "anytime".  I'm the taxi driver, soccer coach, t-ball mom etc...  life is good.

I have been married to a great guy for 2 years (together 7) who is extremely allergic to my canine children, Cody and Gretchen (West German/Czech) and Freiya and Mace (Czech).  Always had German Shepherds and Collies.  Grew up on a large farm in Michigan's thumb.  Moved to Ga in 1994 and started to train multipurpose k'9's for the police departments down there with my then fiance'.  My neighbor bred them and I learned alot about breeding etc from him. He was great and believed in breeding to improve the breed rather than for the money cause he never really made much... He helped deepen my appreciation of the breed....

Moved back to Michigan in 2000 cause my mom was dying of lung cancer.    Met my now husband and went down to Ga and brought back my male, Cody.  Nice lines but not exactly what I wanted to be breeding long term.  Researched 5 more years and now have my female Freiya ( F Genga Von Haus Cimmerian) who is 2. She is out of Iltis Von Der Wildsau (Wolf) and Ginta Z Pohranicni Straze.  My male is out of War Van Den Heuvel (War) and Dakota Von Armierung Haus.  His lines fall back on Congo Vikar and Grim z Pohranicni Straze.  I thought it was a nice working line pair.

I have been breeding for 13 years now and though you cannot possibly please everyone I cannot say I've had alot of complaints.  I am very interested in Schutzhund and agility although cannot see that happening until the kids are older, and have been active with Therapy Dogs International and Leader Dog and  a few local law enforcement agencies.  We only breed one litter a year because we like to use the "Superdog"  imprinting method and I have been pregnant for 4 years!!!!  So it seems...LOL

Anyways, it is deffinately a pleasure to share company with all of you and I thank you all for the little bit of pesonal insight....

Shannan :)

Michelle, 32, single mom to a 13yr old daughter. Been married twice, don't really wanna go there again. Currenty 2 GSD's 3rd on the way. Had dogs all my life and horses since age 14. I ditched the horses, too expensive. LOL too bad nobody told me dogs were just as bad! I live in Northern California and wish I cold move somewhere colder. I love the outsdoors, hiking, boating, fishing and just messing with the dogs. I love to drive, especially at night and I used to be a class A truck driver. Decided I needed to stay closer to home with the kiddlett and have been running my own daycare for over 4 years now. I'm ready to move on to something else. Lots of change going on right now, not sure if my mid life crisis is coming early or I am just freaking out, cause my kid is a teen?

I have lived in Copperas Cove TX and Mannheim Germany. I keep moving back to my hometown for my family. My grandparents are old and I need to be here for them. When my daughter is off to collage, I plan to head out of Dodge and vanish for good. Right now my dogs keep me sane and comforted. I have tried my hand at allot of things, both jobs and hobbies. GSD's are one thing that never fades. I'll never have any more kids at this point in my life and my dogs fill that void.

I come to the PDB for info and fun reading. Like I said I work at home and thats when I am on here usually. YOu caught me on an off moment checking in on a weekend. Usually I am too busy on my days off to post.

I'm still cracking up over smiley1's introduction and the born again Christian statement after earlier reading her first post on this board.  www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/bulletins_read/126847.html#126914

Okay back to business.

43 year old female with an odd (and sarcastic) sense of humor and another Michigander.  Married (3rd time and last after I bury him out back) with 2 grown sons.

I grew up showing and hunting with Weimaraners.  We then moved and built a small horse farm where we raised and showed Morgan horses.  Gives me a chance to show off our filly's latest accomplishment!

I moved around quite a bit while I was growing up mostly because I was in trouble the majority of the time.  I grew up and settled down a bit and moved back to MI.  I started fostering for a local rescue and pretty soon I was running my own rescue.   I took a GSD home one day that was heartworm positive and almost dead with starvation and he never left.  That started my love affair with the GSD.

I now have 3 German Shepherds and I'm also breeding Bengal cats.  Yes, I am that crazy cat lady in the neighborhood.  I recently sold my breeding dogs mainly because of lack of space but I do plan on getting back into the Schutzhund training when I find a suitable young dog.  I love the working line dogs and will always have at least one around.

Nice idea for a post.

54M, divorced, college professor, father of one incredible 19yo daughter.  My parents imported one west german gsd when I was a kid.  Athletic career (track, football, rugby, then many years of track and field) and doctorate got in the way of dogs, so I started as an adult at 29, a little late by some of your standards.  I nearly wrecked the first two, and the third was only up to some decent OB.  My 4th, a DDR sieger son, was astonishing and did almost everything well.  He set a standard I have not yet re-attained. I am training my 11th dog now, a smart, dominant, medium drive, willful, big 4 month old west german male pup, Datscha vom Frauengarten (call name, Hector).  Hector was eating my 89 pound rescue just now, but I told him to stop or I'd report him to you guys.  (The pup wins 3 falls in 4.) I think this fellow may be very, very good, and I have Shelley Strohl to thank for him.

I have always lived in the Northeast.   I am a competitor in masters track and field and have been nationally or world ranked many times in multiple events.  My best world rankings were #38 in the 100m and #19 in the discus.  I have been in the top 5 in the US a few times in the pentathlon.  My daughter was a conference finalist as a freshman in both the 100 and 200 meter last year at college, and is training with a top world-class sprint/jump coach right now, so she hopes to move up.

My plan is to cut back on track competition next summer as I ready my new pup for his career.

My new gf is a history teacher at a private school and a decent long distance runner.  As a 10K is speedwork for her, our workouts never overlap.  She loves my dogs, or so she says, but she's the type who loves the ugliest, meanest mutt, and sees his good side.  I figure that's why she likes me.  I am hoping not to be rehomed.
