I am an oldster. I was born in1943 in Staffordshire England. After the war my mother and father, who had been in the RAF, moved to Canada. My father moved back to England less than a year later and my mum and I stayed in Canada. I moved to Michigan in 65 with my exhusband and am stll here.

I had my first German Shepherd when I was nine and always had one or two since. and a few mutts the kids rescued. At the moment I have two showline shepherds and they keep me busy. 

 I am trying my darnest to go Kentucky in October. I am going to try my boy at ring training tomorrow and  to  see if he is a worthy candidate. If he is I will see you in Lexington. I know it is kind of late in life to start showing dogs but I feel great and why not????

I am married but my husband isn't into dogs.He thinks I am nuts and is sick of me talking about the dogs (24/7)and what feats they have mastered. I have four grown children and ten grandchildren. The  family  jokes, they have been replaced by my dogs.

I enjoy the stories on the forum  and can't wait to put faces to the names

Hi, I'm Debbie.... the driver's license says 57 years old!!! That can't be right.... I feel about 32. Got my first GSD at age 9 and had them ever since. Still miss my very special dog, Utz, who I lost 8 years ago to DM. Haven't done Schutzhund training for a while. You know, it seemed to be more fun when I started out.... didn't know good training from bad, didn't know a good helper from a bad one... was amazingly unaware of schutzhund club politics..... ah, the good old days.

I have a new dog now. He's 2 years old and went from being in a kennel on 10 acres to living in a high rise apartment building in the city of Chicago... quite an adjustment. I've turned into a true Chicago sports fan (White Sox, not so much the Cubs) and just got season tickets for the Bears..... which should insure they'll have a crummy season.

Still think about getting back into schutzhund training.... until I think about laying and aging a track. That usually brings me back to reality. I always HATED tracking. Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Grew up in Massachusetts with Dobes, started training, and joined an obedience club at 12 yrs old, 4H member and leader with kids and horses for over 10 years .  Got my first Shepherd at 18, am now 50, divorced but co-habitating with a 55 yr old man who is wonderful and shares my loves of animals.

I have a great 23 yr old daughter who is in school to be an RN and working at a nursing home as a CNA.  S.O. and I have a 3 yr old GSD, Block (west german /little american) his 6 yr old mother Siren, and a 2 yr old red nose Pit Bull, Madchen.

I am a Caregiver of the the elderly, he is an Engineer, laid back people who love our dogs.

Have lived in Maine, in the woods, which I loved, but the cold was hard on my old bones, so I now reside in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, enjoying the weather.

I have been reading and enjoying most threads and have just started to post, wonderful board.
