What I found most interesting was the picture of Hitler's first GSD, Blonda, in the first link. She has a mask, but absolutely no saddle.

Remember a few weeks ago when someone posted a picture of a puppy with those markings, and people were speculating it might be a GSD/Malinois mix? Yes, I know, some were saying his build didn't look right for a GSD either, but at least this photo proves a pure GSD could have that coloring.

There was a lot more colour variation in the GSD in the early years than there is now.

I've heard the S.S. regarded white GSD's as inferior, and were responsible for the habit of culling (killing) white pups. I've also heard Stephanitz accepted the white dogs as a normal part of the breed. Does anyone have proof of this? Abhay?

A few years ago there was a post in this forum asking if Blondi was of the Busecker Schloss bloodline. The person who started the thread, said they had heard from different sources that Hitler preferred that line. The thread was one of the longest I have ever seen on the Database. Of course there was fighting and more fighting, but the thread also had some very good posts and info. I have searched for the thread, but it seems to have vanished.
