Hi ya'llI finally have a few mnutes to spend on here so how about I answer all the questions I can.

Biggest question on everyones mind is where did a 9 yr old get a 6-8 lb bottle of mercury?

He got it from a neighbor that was having a garage sale. My son says the neighbor gave it to him but the neighbor and my exhusband both seperately say my son was told in no uncertain terms to leave it alone. You would have to know my son to understand how enticing that was. Well, he got it anyways and has had it all these years, to me it looks just like a smal water bottle and if i saw it ( i dont know if I did or not) i would not have thought anything of it if I didnt touch it ( which I didnt). Where the neighbor got it from? He is what I call a Junk Dealer. He buys the contents of storage buildings, garages, etc and sell it at either the trade days or at a garage sale. I assume he got it at one of his estate sales. It was in a 5 gal bucket, 15 - 20 bottles of the stuff. from what justins ays, it had a lable on it with green lettering that said mercury nd had skull and crossbones. As of right now, I do not know what is going on with the former neighbor, he had moved and rented the house out but from what I understand the bucket was still sitting in the same place and hadnt been moved in all these years. They did rope off that house but further details about it are unknown to me.

I got the test results back today, Wanda at the health Dept said all merccury levels are within "Acceptable Range" whatever that means. After talking with Kristie Lemmons at Environmental Management ( she is the one that has worked with me from the beginning) She had spoken with a toxicologist and was told that you have to be exposed on a regular, extanded basis before you will show contamination in the kidneys. The acute affects of Mercury Poisoning  are not permanent according to what she told me today. OMG I have breathed more than 1 sigh of relief.

EPA will be out friday to test the dogs for contamination and I will go from there, I have a very small yard here that I just htrew up yesterday for the 2 little dogs to go out in and not have to worry about them getting run over. I have a 10X10 kennel I can put Tino in, I can probably put 1 other dog in there but that will be a small space for 2 dogs to spend the day.

Kristie said she had been mistaken, She told me today that the state was having difficulty locating a Competant Coordinator to oversee the project, they had a contractor. They now have a Coordinator and they crew is supposed to be out Monday and work a short week. They anticipate being thru with the initial phase by Dec 8th, then they will make another sweep of the house and tell me if it is clean or if something else needs to be done. Keep your fingers crossed!!! She said the highest levels of contamination were found on the carpeting ( of course) the couchs ( I have a pit group with the couchs that have recliners on each end) the little dogs love being on the couchs and the pups had just learned to jump up on them, My bed which is where Goldie slept when I wasnt home, or when I was home lol it was more her bed than mine I believe lol and on the kitchen carpeting since thats where the pups food and water dishs were. My sons bedroom door was closed so they didnt get in there and the laundry room door was closed so they couldnt get in there. I had just done laundry but hadnt put it away yet so we are still waiting to find out about what was in the laundry baskets. She did say tho that the bathroom in my room was showing contamination as well as my carpet so the pups must have gone in there playing, I wouldnt doubt it since thats where they spent the first 8 weeks of their life, in my bedroom and bathroom because they werent big enough to climb the stairs to the backdoor doggie door.

the dogs seemed to be in good spirits this evening when I went to feed and water, they wanted to get tome

Hang in there Shandra.  We are all so happy to hear any bit of good news regarding what you are going through.  I'll be able to help out a little bit next month too.  I only wish I could be as generous as the Funkster Celery Man - he is most assuredly a hero in my book.

Great,  A little bit of good news........hope they get on with the dogs and get them tested and out of there....I dont know why they could test them and get them to the vet that has agreed to work with the state and get the dogs safe and in a clean place...they wanted the sun to decontaminate the dogs by itself,,,well its hot now so maybe they can go for a brief visit and then home with Shandra..

I  , too , will put a little bit on the Walmart , card , when my eagle flies , this month.....I can turn loose of a little bit each month,,,cant buy the whole crate of green celery...but sure am glad Funk man has lots of extra green celery...

Speaking of celery,,I think Ill go make some German Potato salad,,,,,I dont think the germans put a bit of celery in theirs, but I do....vinegar, bacon, onion ,potatoes, and sugar......  mmmmm good....and a tad of celery....
