Best thing to do is have Shandra set up a paypal account herself. I would be happy to send money, but I wouldnt send money to anyone but her directly.

Shandra if you read this, please go to paypal and register an account and post the email address with which your account is associated.

I agree Jehannum, but if she's hospitalized and can't do it we can at least find out her name and go from there.  Maybe we set something up through the Red Cross?

How is your son? He has as much exposure as you, so is he as sick as you are?  ~ Veronica

Didn't Shandra say in her post that the Red Cross was involved already? I don't know if they have to live with the HIPAA crap the hospitals do, but that might be a means through which to coordinate aid. I'd hate to think we blew off helping someone truely in need because of suspicion. I'm kinda hurting myself right now, might lose my job, from my shoulder injury, but I could give a $20, & it wouldn't kill me even if it were a scam....which I truely DON'T think it is. What's $20 to most folks? peanuts...but add up a bunch of $20 & maybe the lady could buy some groceries or something. I think anything would help! jackie harris

Of course, I will help. The Benefit Account is not difficult to set upo at a bank, and people can send the checks directly there. Thank you, Sparrow, for verifying things and for starting the ball rolling. Just let me know where to send the check. Nia

I promise to help also.  Just let me know how.  PayPal is easiest but they do take a cut.  I'm game for any way it is worked out.  Someone post the directions and I'm in.

I think that PayPal advertises that you can send money to anyone with an email address.  They do take a very small cut, but maybe for this they could be persuaded not to.

I think being able to mail a check to a bank branch there would work fine.

Same here....let me know, either in the post or by pm, & I'm in, too! If someone lives nearby, would you want to collect & deliver? Just batting around ideas....jh
