Re: Dragon-

Just as I suspected, Jackie. You may not have known it, but you are apparently partial to the compacy, powerful, heavy-boned DDR type dog.  One of the reasons I bred Gabi to Eagle is that he is a Lord Glesidreieck grandson, therefore an Ingo great-grand son, and displays those same structural qualities. I think the breeding, 3,5 Fero, will produce some strongly-structured pups (read: little tanks) compared to the more refined dogs Gabi produces with T. (Linebred on Marc Herculesblick). I'm looking forward to the litter!

Yvette - "It's not what's on the surface, that counts... it's what in the heart that matters.  A dog with energy and enthusiasm, that loves to work, and work hard, now THAT is a beautiful sight."

Very, very well stated.  This type of dog is usually one that becomes someone's HERO.....no title or conformation in the universe can equal that of a life saved by a dog - true heart and courage.  I guess it's all in the "why" - why do you want a gsd???  Although, I admit that KKL1's across the board in the parents of mine was important to me in hopes that I would get dogs that will Koer themselves.

I think working lines are very attractive, substance there....more than just looks.....but I am biased....I think my working lines are the most handsome/beautiful dogs around (I said I'm biased) but that's because I live every day with them and know their personalities, how much they like to train and play, their seriousness when guarding their home, their intensity when in prey mode, tracking with noses to the ground sniffing the path of the last one to go for a walk and their intelligence....watching the gears ticking in their heads as they manage to open a latched gate.

And at the same time, find my girl in the middle of a bunch of kids, loving every moment of attention and my boy dropping a parrot out of his mouth when told to, totally unharmed and now the loudest member of the family.  The smarts to know friend from foe and the guts to defend their family to the death.  The training is the fun part, watching them excel at what I expect them to do, looking back at me for approval then "going for it" when I nod my head, the tailing wagging in the victory lap with the sleeve.  My only hope is that I can keep up with their ability to excel and knowing any lack found is in me, not them.

Very much enjoyed the pedigree discussion and the photos.   :)   I don't post much as this forum can get nasty, but this thread has been a real pleasure.

I have the ugliest working line dog I've ever seen, and I'll choose him over any V rated dog in a heartbeat. Why? I haven't seen a dog yet to rival this one's intensity or heart. Ugly bastard, but I love him.

There are no ugly dogs. I have seen a few German  Showline dogs  that I would not care to own, and I have German Showlines, and I have seen beautiful Workinglines that make you stop, look and say.. NICE!!
