Blitzen, thank you for your post.  You have such a way with words........you said a lot I would have liked to have said had I been good with words.

You are right about the UKC, any dog that can walk can eventually earn a CH there.  In fact when I was at the show, a lady brought out a very poorly built dog with a docked tail.  She went into a long spiel as to why the dog's tail had to be docked,...........anyway this same judge--who does not know the standard........had to look it up before she excused the dog.  Does this mean I dislike dogs with docked tails?  Would I have been jealous of this dog had they put it up/  No but knowing the standard as I do it wouldn't have been right.......................and I would have caLLed the UKC just as I did anyway.

So if you show a dog in UKC with a serious fault and they put you up because they don't know any better, what have you proven?

I used the show as a tool............there are no classes close to me and I wanted to take my boy and see how he would do around other dogs and around all the noise etc etc.  By the way in that aspect he did pretty good.

I don't have the energy to waste on being jealous of other people's dogs.  I have my own 2 and maybe a young girl on the way--still working out the details...........but if I was going to be jealous I would be jealous of Molly and Eagle or Shelly with her Eagle litter coming up................and I can think of a few others, just don't know their names right off.  oh yes and Animules with Miss Boneshaker....................

My last comment.............why is it that everyone else can agree with me and feel the same I do about something but then when I say anything I am the one who get's bashed?  Oh well I guess when I am catching it it is leaving someone else alone.

By the way Blitzen I am a she......................

After reading this thread, I don't know whether commenting on the "Galaxy in Euk ad" is being judged as froufrou. (LOL) Getting rather silly, I'd say.

SW--Not so long ago, I seem to recall your having a conniption when the posts centering on Max were more than you could tolerate.  Well, that's how some (such as vonissk) regard the Chaos threads.  Just putting things into perspective. (No need to take offence...........just stating the obvious irony that constantly abounds here. LOL)

Isn't it apparent to anyone besides myself that every poster does the same thing?  Levity is allowed when it's centered on the people and dogs you like.  I've seen seriousness go right out the window... even with the most stoic posters when it suited them. This constant, cry-baby whining of how it was needs an overhaul and new tactic plan.  People who feel they are knowledgeable, experienced and beneficial to the breed should just post and lead by example.  Condemnation will never work.  It's petty and suffocating.  If old-time posters won't accept change...then, so be it....they won't post.

Mainly, I read for the medical tips.  But the wide variety of topics keeps my interest peeked.  For instance----I wonder what dog food Domenic will eventually settle on-----I wonder what stud harley will finally choose for Kira (if bred)-----I wonder... whatever happened to Saxon?----I wonder about those emaciated dogs we viewed in photobucket.  They didn't abuse themselves......someone did that to them----and, I even wonder what made Uglydog so passionate.  I wonder....I'm interested and believe there's room on the PDB for everyone.  Just choose the topics that interest you....don't click on the ones that don't.

As a new person to this board I have learned alot and prefer to pm those who have specific knowledge iam interested in. The getting to know each other was nice beacause it lets me know who breeds, shows or does sar work etc. I admire those who show and compete and like to hear their knowledge

This is a   German shepherd database site...it says nothing in the heading about being a Schutzhund only or a working dog , only or a show dog only forum.....there are no rules,,just people like what  Maligator and his four friends , VOnissk, Hodie, animules and Louise just stated they didnt like , at least one of the things , they least like...calling names and he posts in a huff, to Vonissk, after everyone else here., handled the opinions rather well, with no one getting vile or foul, until Maligator pulls his grand stand.....If he represents the five of your , then  you are doing the same thing all the ones you all hate do....

Theres plenty of room for all the german shepherd lovers to voice and post info and pics about the dogs they love...Oli put the picture ability of posting on here for us to use....not just look at it sitting up there on the tool bar......I enjoy looking at Shelley's new boy, and animules new pups and her titled dogs, just like I like seeing the new peoples pups they just got started with.....learning about your gsd is not all training techniques and this base would not be visited very much , it training is all you guys talk about........the ones doing the name calling can go on over to wherever.......

Two Moons is very much on the mark and he is a rather new person on this site.....lets leave a nice     Chocolate " taste in the site of all the new people and not a bitter " Ivemec " taste.   If you are angry at all of us that show off our pics , just dont look at them.....I got an email from Jacksonville Police dept. today with my great boy in Training for PD titles and I wanted to show  him    but not now...Ill show the rest of the board in an email .....I wouldnt want to be called an name like Spook101 does everytime I post.....too close to Santa Claus  time....

WOOOHOOOO you go Yellow Rose of Texas.  Very nicely said, lol.

by zacsmum on 25 November 2007 - 12:11

Well, have just read the above rants, and maybe chill pills are in order? Yellow Rose, Shepherd Woman, Shelley, Capt Mike etc, thanks for lightening up the board, and long may you all reign!  The win, win, win mentality here, and the my dog is better than yours posts are enough to drive anyone new elsewhere. Not to mention the politics and back scratching club!  This board is full of very very good info and knowledgeable people, willing to share their knowledge and experiences, so why is it that time after time, the old boys club feels the need to dampen things with nasty, condescending posts? Do you guys know how to smile? Do you have a life outside this board? GET ONE!!!!!

The long coat bashers? Just plain nasty. If a person chooses to own a long coated dog, then that is their choice, be it long, short, or sky blue bloody pink! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, live and let live, and keep your stuffy opinions to yourself. No, i dont own a long coat, but i have done in the past, and at the end of the day, he had a leg at each corner, and two ears, just the same as a dog with a standard coat. The only difference between my long coat and some of the standard coat owning folk here? My dog wasnt a status symbol or a points scoring tool. Whether he won or lost, i still took the best dog in the world home with me after a show. He could do a good days work, and his coat affected nothing about him in the way of temperament or construction. His hip score was 2.2, which is nothing short of excellent here in the U.K.  He was haemophillia negative, which, by the way, i never hear any of you top show dog owning people testing for.? We have a good, reasonably priced testing scheme here in the U.K which is well used. Research your pedigrees, maybe you need to think about testing? Or turn a blind eye, as usual, when it doesnt suit. Win at all costs, even when it costs the breed dear?

CHILL!!!!!!! Smile now and again, and enjoy your dogs!

Well, I'll say right now I'm sorry if I offended anyone with Beckett's picture. I posted several months ago a request for a critique, because I am new to this, I never stacked a dog before, I've never owned a working line before. 1 person responded. I wasn't looking for praise, I wanted to know if I was on the right track. Anytime I ask a question, about Beckett, I try to keep it reasonably intelligent, for an idiot who's never really worked with working lines before. I created a couple of galleries for my pix so I wouldn't tie up threads. Sorry, I feel compassion for folks who post to share their grief, their troubles, their frustrations, or just to know that theirs is not the only dog that ever did something, or had a particular training problem, & I love to share the joys, & happy moments of those brags, those times when something you've been struggling to achieve comes together. So, I guess I'm just an old, fluffy, dope. I've been trying to learn from this board, but I'm too embarrassed, most times, to ask questions, & definately, now I'm going think twice before I post anything. jackie harris

jackie, please don't let the people who have posted nasty little post on this topic stop you from posting your dogs pictures and asking for a critique OR others opinion on your dog.  These people need to LIGHTEN UP and learn to have a little fun.  They are the same ones that bash every single thing that they don't TOTALLY agree with, or if they don't like the person, in this case, ME, LOL than they go off more than on others.  The only thing I have done lol is say exactly what I think, and some people get scared of people like that.  I do not back down from anyone and I never will back down from anyone!  I do not think I am always right!  NO one is right 100% of the time, even if some of the people on here think that they know EVERYthing about the GSD, they don't!  NO one does.  So stick around, post TONS of pictures, and ask what you want.  I'm sure SOME of us will answer you, lol.  Like I said, they need to lighten up big time and enjoy life and get to know people a little better before they start bashing and complaining.  Have a great day and post post post!

Jackie, old and fluffy is good! Better than old, with tunnel vision, and a huge dose of anal retention!  Yr dogs are gorgeous, and obviously well loved. Dont be afraid to share your opinions or experiences, tis what the board is for!
