Stephen,

Any check can have a stop payment attached to it. Even a certified check.

No CASH or certified cashier's check

Birdy...

It's all coming back to me............now I remember why I only bred 7 litters in 37 years.

by SGBH on 27 November 2007 - 15:11

I am thinking seriously about giving this up, as well(and I have only done 5 litters).  Not worth the trouble, if you are trying to do it the "right way".  If I can get my "wish stud",  next time around, I think I will keep a couple to take me to age 65 or so and that will be it for me.  The German Shepherds are the most, but the people, along with their unreasonable expectations, and criminal intentions, suck.

I would deposit it as if I knew nothing about the stop payment.  Then when it bounced report him on a bad check charge.

In the State of Florida you can no knowingly write a bad check, or stop payment on a check for reasons other then lost check.  The few times I have gotten a bad check in thirty years, we filed in court and the person who had generally left the area, when stopped for anything was arrested.  I was then paid for the check plus all expenses and they got to pay court costs, it is a felony in Florida. Sometimes months went by before they get stopped, but the look on their face must be priceless when they are arrested for a felony in some far away state and not released until they make good on all expences.  Unfortunate so many humans are so low class, but I guess it is always the best idea to wait until it is cleared if that is possible.

I love Florida's laws on checks.   I don't think I have ever been stuck with one, the State Attorney sends you the form you need to send the check writer and then when they don't respond you just forward it to them.

looks like I live in the wrong state... lol

At this point I just want MY dog back !!   I can't stand the thought of that poor puppy being with someone that is so unreasonable and so dishonest.

I bought my puppy with a $2500 check. I think most people are ok. Echo, what state do they live in?

by Melissa on 28 November 2007 - 19:11

After reading this... This is a case of theft. I'm irritated now. Have you called the police? Contact an attorney to write an official letter to him. Or.. have your neighbor's husband, your brother, and your husband go to the guy's house and get that puppy back. I'll meet you there and we'll do it together.

I know for a fact that EM is a liar, and she loves the drama !  I am sure that she makes up every thing that she writes in about.   Only an idiot would take a check for a puppy.   Once they have the puppy they can stop payment.  But you can always get your money back.  Just take the check to the prosecuting attorney and they take care of it.  Stop payment on a check is a FELONY.  Alot of people don't care about the papers they just want a good pet.   I am looking up numbers in your area EM to find a good "nut doctor" for you to visit.  Please rush to his office as I think you've gone bonkers.  You waited just a short while after all the lies you told about me and the dog I sold you.  You need to find another way to make money.  And by the way I just saw an ad you put on here, dogs for sale $500 and up !!   Are you kidding me you sell muts for $500  boy I need to raise my prices.
