I like this database the most, the forums are nice too, I learned about Major, my first GSD and all his relation right here. Grandpa never knew about his pedigree, he just loved the dog and took him to work. Now that I got older and on this internet  ... finding the pedigree of your first dog in the attic and doing a simple search of his name brought me to this site, number one search result. It took me maybe 5 hours on here to know more than I could have dreamed about Major's history, well almost everything, I keep learning something new everytime someone emails me. I do know words get around. Right down to baby pictures ... thanks to the people on this website. Now, I need to get back to my village ... it's missing the idiot.

It's a very nice poem, but I don't think the problems we face in this country and abroad will be solved by everyone believing in the same religion, god or lack of religion.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, a socialist.  The "under god" part wasn't added until 1954 during the cold war when the slogan of the day was "I'd rather be dead than red".  As a matter of fact, Frances Bellamy was most likely turning over in his grave when his pledge was changed because before he died he renounced his church because of the racial bigotry practiced by his fellow members.

Well, someone's gonna have alot of bickering and changin' to do because most America's historic songs and documents have God in them.  I find it hard to believe real Americans allow such tampering. America! America! God shed His grace on thee .... God Blessed America, land that I love .... From the Redwood Forest, to the Gulf stream waters, God blessed America for me ... hummmm someone would even have to bicker about our national anthem, because the full version says "then conquer we must, for our cause it is just, and this be our motto "In God is our trust."  .... and these songs are just off the top of my head ... there are many more mentioning God ya know.

Actually all U.S. states mention God in their constitutions, now that I think about it.

Actually, I prefer the motto  E PLURIBUS UNUM (One Unity Composed of Many Parts).  To me,  one of the reasons for separation of church and state and the meaning of this motto are one and the same.  In this country it is not necessary for us all to think alike, look alike or worship alike in order to qualify as "real Americans".  Many of our forefathers came here to escape religious persecution.  Of course, maybe you would prefer to live in a society where the only "real Americans" were just like you.  Frankly  I prefer diversity myself.

... diversity is what's killing us, or am I thinking socialism ? Either way, why do you stay in a country with things you don't like ? I'm sure there is someplace out there for ya. Why are you here I mean really ? Honest question. It just sounds like to me everyone wants to be hear but noone knows where their at.

Diversity is what's killing us?  You must be joking.  What did I say I didn't like? You on the other hand bitch about anyone who is different from you.  Maybe you should hit the road, go find somewhere everyone is just like you.

Whether you like it or not this country has now and always will be made up of people who don't all look like you, think like you, or share your same belief system.  That's one of the best things this country has going for it.  U PLURIBUS UNUM.
