I am a little lost between your hostility and that ranting I am not sure if you are quoting others or what, I do not think being a "People pleaser" as you put it, automatically makes you spineless. Unless you know every single person who breeds dogs and tries to place dogs in homes that both the dog and the person purchasing the dog will be happy in.... that "people pleasing" definition could fit YOU.... or maybe you just dont care and only want to sell puppies. you have appointed yourself judge and jury as most do on this board. This board is largely made of people with personal opinions (I admittedly am one of those people) and whoever's opinion is not fully in line with yours is simply attacked as spineless, ignorant, worthless, whatever. I am not sure you read adequately, or perhaps you just read what you want to read.... statistics can be written to support almost any supposition. So if you dont like it, proclaim yourself an expert, start a web-site and found your statistics in the way that supports your view of the facts. There is a very big difference between facts, and how people interpret them. I am sure you can find a following, even Jim Jones, Hitler and L. Ron Hubbard had people who followed them like sheep... and NO, dont get your knickers in a knot, I'm not saying your Hitler, simply that as I stated before, people will ultimately believe what they want to believe and then go about gathering statistics to support it... NOT necessarily the other way around.

Von symphoni-certainly not hostile and ranting at you. The only thing that was directed at your statements was simply that the statistics (regardless of interpretation)are clear that there are all breeds of dogs including GSDs that are biters. You stated you didn't want to get into whether they were sport, Am.,showline, etc. The whole point of the thread was directed at those who say breeding and training dogs for Sch gives them more of a propensity to bite than all the remaining of the 4.7 million dog bites victims each year. Stupid to the extreme. I don't recall you ever stating that. Sorry if you though otherwise. Yes the above post does contain quotes. The parts in the quotation marks are quotes. Except for the last two sentences. Those are sarcasm. Your point is well taken about Jim Jones, Hitler and L. Ron Hubbard. Fascinating mix of people, btw. Hell, even Don'tTakeMyMilkMoney has a following of the vapid. You seem quite confused. I'm not the breeder. I have not/will not ever be a breeder. Dudley DoRight is the one who had the epiphany that he had two ofa good dogs and has declared he will be a trainer/breeder. Not me. Your quote:"and whoever's opinion is not fully in line with yours is simply attacked as spineless, ignorant, worthless, whatever". No the spineless people pleaser would be Wallis Simpson (Dudley Doright) who says GSDs should be bred into whatever the "public perception" says is ok. You tell me which twenty members of the general public you prefer to dictate what kind of GSD you can have? Breeders need their own vision. Not that of the general public. If anyone goes around getting "general public" polling data before breeding then you tell me what kind of dog he will come out with. If you read the above post with the quotation marks you'll see they are..quotations. The begin with the little mark thingies before the string of words and end with the little mark thingies at the end of the string of words. I think the inadequacies lie with YOUR reading skills not mine, dear.

shut up about the little mark thingies..... that's not funny!!..... ok, it's a little funny, but it's insulting. Learn to double space after a period so those of us with poor eye sight can see he little mark thingies better....... there!

Well you started it saying I read inadequately!!! LOL! Point taken about double spacing. Truce?

by von symphoni on 18 December 2007 - 22:12

did you double space that?

by allaboutthedawgs on 18 December 2007 - 22:12

Oh, you mean double space the lines? Not double space between sentences after the period?

Well if Oli had the newer format back, we could bold the letters and increase the font size for the old and blind. LMAO Funny how you two went for the throat over some spacing issues. See how things on the board get screwed up? You go off on one guy and another takes it personal, when it wasn't even directed at them.
