When I was a groomer, I had a spanish speaking fellow groomer (he was one of the best groomers I ever saw and was very generous in sharing his techniques), and a spanish speaking bather/brusher (a good friend of mine still). It was really quite comical because Jose & Allisons english was almost as bad as my spanish. We all ended up being pretty fluent in each others language, probably because all three of us saw the language barrier as a great opportunity to learn, none of us took ourselves too seriously and we all prided ourselves on our ability to laugh at each other and ourselves.

Shelley, I understand.......When I was young and dumb I had a full night with my new best friend (at the time), Goldschlager. Ever since, just seeing the bottle with the nasty gold flakes is enough to make me dry heave!!!

I take real offense at your remark about us stupid Americans that only speak one language. We are in America the language of the United States is English. So we speak that why should we know other languages. If someone comes to American and doesn't learn English too bad go back from where you came from... I'm not stupid I am a PROUD AMERICAN

Actually, if you came to America 'back in the day', you might have had to speak Algonquin, or some other Native American tongue. I'm Irish/English/Cherokee(just the teensiest bit), and my grandfather's people had the first salt mill in America, and the American Spirit, then as today, remains about tolerance, and freedom! This thread has been fun and in good spirit so far...let's keep it that way! jh

Gshprdsrul, here in the great melting pot of Southern Ontario, immigrants outnumber those born in Canada. As for the States, I suggest you go check out what the Statue of Liberty is all about: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" If you want to get an idea of what they're typing, you DO know how to use Babelfish, don't you? Or do you have something against Hispanics? In Canada's other official language, "Allons voir si le vin est bon!"
