For what it is worth, i talked to the press secretary of the SV recently about long coats and their status. While there has been some discussion about their status, there is NO truth to the rumor that their status will change anytime soon. Lets' hope that many jump ship and go to the new forum. Geez, what a wealth of information that site will be......lol

I dont see the need to change the standard, long coats for herding and work have drawbacks and logic was behind the standard. Now after saying that, I think long coats are beautiful and just as well suited for anything any other GSD can do.
The German Shepherd breed is destined to branch out into the different specialties we are seeing, SAR and therapy, american, european east and west. K-9, shutzhund, pets and show, long coat and short. White, black, not just sable or saddle back.
I think everyone can have they're own niche and the breed will evolve because it is so versatile.
As far as SW and the other board, whats it hurting? At least its not a shameless promotion of a particular kennel or trainer, or commercial website as I have seen here before.
I bet you cant use the F word there.

Thanks Two Moons, and yes you're right about the F word there! lol. That's what's nice about the features of the site. I can change anything that I want on it won't offend anyone! Never know if kids are on there or not. I'm sure there are on here and I feel sorry for them when they have to read the garbage! Thanks again!!!!!!!!

Two Moons, when I first signed up, the language censor wouldn't even let me say BITCH!! It changed it into 'pregnant dog'!
That has since been fixed. What good is a dog board if you can't use 'bitch' in its one legitimate sense!
