Kalibeck, tell Carl that you think that you may be pregnant!

ROTFLMAO!!!

Jackie, its time for you to come over for a short-course on whelping, litter preparedness, instructions/help with a whelping box, pre and post natal care, etc. Knowing Carl, this doesn't surprise me one bit. Also need to get the bi-color male OFA's. Permanent reg. not necessary for evaluation, but you're gonna need them anyway, and the DNA results, so might as well get ofing on it. I think I have a prepaid DNA swab kit, save you a week or two ordering one.

Sigh... Hoep Carl is pleased with himself, but I'm certain he is. He got his way, after all. Somehow I'm thinking he won't be up all night for 1-4 nights in a row, on puppy watch, but I will be available of course.  CALL ME. WE have a lot to do in short order. No time to write it all here.

Men....

I hate to ask, but what is getting the OFA on the male going to do at this point?    Will it make the Pups hips better?  They will have the same hips whether the father is OFA'd or not.    The pups are going to be sold to pet homes, hopefully at a price that merely covers the costs to Jackie.

Thanks for being so supportive guys....I don't know whether to laugh or cry....Carl is from the deep South, and was in charge of the animals on his parents/grandparents 500+ acre farm...so he thinks he knows all there is to know about about 'critters'....his granfather was from Germany and had brought what Carl calls German Shepherds with him, that would have been around 1900, he has a picture of his grandfather driving an ox-cart with his favorite dog on the buckboard next to him, it does look like a GSD, a sable...and Carl likes to say, "they never had no trouble havin' puppies!" His grandfather married a Seminole lady, and so Carl's family began....And Thanks Louise, if I told Carl I was pregnant he would be over the moon with happiness, 'course I AM fixed, and post menopausal to boot! You never saw a guy so crazy over babiesjh

Pups will be going to homes that I feel I can trust, I am terrified about having to give puppies to strangers...I'm really gonna need some coaching with that!!! All I care about is that they will be loved, valued members of a family. I would keep them all, if I could. Kalie's breeder wants a pup back, not for breeding, but as a companion, Kali is the last girl of her 'favorite' line, her dam was Jane's 'heart-dog', and she is now 11, and recently had surgery for breast cancer, so I think she was so thrilled because she now may have a chance to keep a part of Foxy alive....and Jane just recently had a mild stroke, I think things like that make us cling tighter to what we love, so I will be happy to give her a pup, I know that baby will be well cared for....I'm having all kinds of scary thoughts, now! Yikes! & the little bottle of Jamie is almost kicked! jh

If Kallie was bred first week of Jan, she's could whelp as soon as Mar. 1!   (58-63 days) We have a LOT to do right now, her a first-time mother and you a first-time breeder...  and not much time to do it with you back to work now.

Wait till I get my hands on that man! He's in for it. :-/

Please call me ASAP.  I'll try to get going on a pre-fab box you can just screw together but could use some help. Lots of scrap up in the kennel.  Time for Mr. Know-it-all-animal-breeder to pay for his sins...  with his tools and his wallet...

God forbid anything should go wrong.

jackie:

have you found out for sure that the dog is pregnant?  as long as you do the right thing by the dog and pups, you have no need to come on this board or any other to get "approval" from its members.  as long as you are behaving responsibly, you should not be subjected to any kind of criticism.

good luck to all and i hope you are able to find good homes for all the babies.
