That last would be 'Dumkopf', Kalibeck, German for 'stupid head'!
I think 'von Kalibeck' has a nice sound to it.

I like ' vom Kalibeck' too !!! Although you could use ' von carlton dumkopf ' !! lol

Kalibeck has a nice ring to it, easy to spell and pronounce. I regret choosing Frauengarten. Try spelling that phonetically on the phone while someone is trying to type it into their browers... :-/ Plus, my German friends hate it, tell me it suggests alternate gender/lifestyle issues... (No, those were NOT the exact words they used... Ha ha ha) Too late now.

When things were slow at work last night I was babelfish-ing every cutsie little phrase I could think of....nothing really struck me, but I was feeling kinda down anyway. I was wanting to keep at least one puppy, but Carl says no. If I was bummed before, I'm really upset now; I guess the honeymoon IS over! And, I just found out for sure that Wolf's hips were never OFA'd, so I have to do that, pronto. I'm not really worried about his hips, there's a fairly consistant line of OFA-good & a-normal hips in his pedigree, and at 6 years old, he's not slowing down or showing any stiffness, or really any indication at all that his hips will be a problem; but we still need the paper. I know it won't make any difference in the pups, but it may make a difference in the kind of homes they go to. I'm not asking a lot for them, but I still want them to be valued, and that is something that people consider a valuable assessment, so one more thing to squeeze in during the next week or so....(sigh).! Thanks for liking Kalibeck, should it be von(of) or vom(from)??? I hope I get one tough little guy I can name Atilla! (you know, Atilla my Hun.....!) jh

vom
OFA'ing fathers' hips WILL make a difference in the caliber of homes you can find for the babies. Sucks you have to rush and get so much done on short notice, though. :-/

Congratulations on your babies! Regardless of the circumstances, I am sure you will love each and every one! I am also certain that you will find loving homes for all! :)
I'm glad to hear you will be getting Wolf's hips done. Even if it's too late to "just say no" to the breeding, it's important that you and any future puppy owners know.
Good luck, and keep us posted!
Have fun, Shelley!

I think they are going to be beautiful little puppies and if I were able to have another dog, I'd try to talk you into letting me have one of them.
6 is a nice size litter. Don't be shocked if there are 7; it seems like the majority of litters are odd numbers for some reason unknown to me. Maybe even 9 ..........just kidding about 9.

I think Carl deserves to be on nightime puppy duty for putting you through this!! LOL, once the babies get here there is no way he could say "No" to keeping a puppy.
