Hi Guys!
Did anyone notice any DDR GSD's on the dilute list?,
maybe I'm blind or something, I don't think I noticed any..
The reason there are no DDR dogs on the dilute list yet, is simply lack of research material from the DDR (before the DDR lines became mixed with Western lines).
I have long been searching for copies of the DDR studbooks and copies of DDR pedigrees. If anyone wants to contribute photocopies of such material it will be much appreciated.
The same is also true of Czech, Hungarian, and other Eastern European/Russian GSD pedigrees and bloodlines, older pedigree data (before these lines became mixed with Western lines), and I haven't yet been fortunate enough to have anyone give me copies of studbook data from these countries

Bitches are carriers and there is no way they can test them.
ONly test availalable is for MALES

Well... thank you, Mystere and Pam! I did not know that bitches could be affected, I have always thought they were just the carriers!
You see... this board is valuable! Any idea of % of affected bitches?

This is not the same for females, females have a 2/3 chance of not showing symptoms of haemophilia; being 1/3 chance that they'd be carriers but don't show any symptoms and 1/3 chance that they would not get infected with haemophilia and 1/3 chance that they'd have haemophilia and show symptoms of it.

I had no idea... remember when Canto lines were all scrutinised by breeders? It was always the bitch lines we looked at!
