<Tess:  Please stop attempting to excuse and rationalize the shameful performances. That is precisely why such conduct has been allowed to flourish all this time. Only rarely have videos existed for all to see the pitiful performances.>>

Mystere:  DON'T put words in my mouth.  I realize that's the pedigree db way, but it won't work with me because I'll call you on it every time.  I neither excused nor rationalized.  Read my posts.  I'm the one who suggested everyone who was appalled by the videos write to USA about the judging.  I stand by my statement that it is possible that some of the dogs with better quality training would perform better, but with judging this bad there is no incentive to do so,

Lost this part in my last post:  That in no way excuses the poor performances.  You should be judged on how you perform.  If your dog keeps falling off the sleeve he shouldn't be a VA.  If he gets his tootsies stepped on and it makes him quit, yeah, that's a problem.  I hope this starts every SS protection phase being videotaped and sent to YouTube.  Sure changed my ideas of certain stud dogs.

I did read your posts. Perhaps you should re-read them as you REPEATEDLY argued that it was training that led to the shameful results.. The video clearly shows dogs engaging in avoidance behavior from the outset, partial grips (genetic-either the dog has the grips, or it doesn't), weak nerve (genetic), etc. NOT the type of thing that should elecit 3 separate entreaties that "it could be training." That , along with "it was thehelper's fault" are among the perennial excuses. Call on that.

I DID read your posts, Tess. Multiple entreaties suggesting/imploring that it was a training issue. :-) That, along with "it was the helper's fault" are the two primary, perennial excuses for the shameful performances at the Sieger Show. But, have it your way. The posts are there in black and white. :-)

Multiple entreaties suggesting/imploring that it was a training issue. :-) That, along with "it was the helper's fault" are the two primary, perennial excuses for the shameful performances at the Sieger Show. The video clearly shows dogs in avoidance behavior from the outset, due (most likely) to nerves (genetic), partial grips (genetic) and disengaging at the hint of a stick hit, due to weak nerves (genetic). But, have it your way. You were not excusing the poor performances--and your posts are there in black and white. :-)

Quit the freakin whining and finger pointing. That is half the problem here.We have a chance as GSD owners to take a stand as a whole and try to make a change. If you believe that the Sieger Show was disappointing and things need to change, go sign this petition. If not, don't sign and expect the same for years to come. There are double standards being set and that is not exceptable.I don't believe for one moment that a dog that cannot pass a local UScA trial should ever go VA. IMHO

Stonehaus, You have made a valid point! If the membership wants their voice to be heard, SPEAK UP NOW!!!! WE, as members of UScA have a GOLDEN opportunity to speak up and BE HEARD! Discussion is a wonderful thing! I applaud it....HOWEVER, add your name and your membership number to the petition and BE HEARD!

LOL I keep stomping on my dogs feet, when he crowds me in the heel. He doesn't seem to notice let alone run, cry or avoid putting his feet right back in my way. This is on the sidewalk also, not soft grass. Stepping on a dog should get no responce or a fight responce, never a release. The dog is suppossed to be in drive for Gods sake! It's not as if he was asleep and his owner tripped over him on the way to the bathroom in the dark. If this dog was out hearding would he not be subject to some pain, stickers, hot/cold weather, ram sheep? Same if he was a service dog, police K-9 or any other job a dog can have. Another thing, if the dog has been to training, he should be accustomed to the bumps and shakes he gets from a moving decoy/helper. Real dogs deal.  Pansies wilt.
